What is your favorite Classic Rock Band?

Mine would have to be Lynyrd Skynyrd.
What is your favorite?

Speaking of classic rock bands...anyone who like classic rock and is in Vegas this weekend (or any weekend) you should check out the band Yellow Brick Road at Boulder Station. They are really good and one of the few Vegas lounge bands dedicated to classic rock...everything from Pink Floyd, to Rush to AC/DC to Van Halen and in between.

Black Sabbath and their HUGE effect on the whole rock history (heavy metal pioneers), The Stooges and their HUGE effect in the whole rock history (punk rock pioneers - that's where the punk started, yet not the pose ) The Velvet Underground (Reed was always one of my fav authors) then cool live acts such as Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin - actually one of the last times where the most accomplished bands hit the charts and radios hard.

then from the rest: The Who, Jimi Hendrix Experience, Vannila Fudge, Santana

From more alternative acts: King Crimson and Mothers of Invention

Too much cool bands to mention but if I were to pick from the seventies I would put in Thin Lizzy - was always a huge fan of Phil Lynott and they were such a cool and real band

It depends on my mood. For relaxing, it's got to be Pink Floyd. But if I'm hanging out by the pool or cleaning the house, gotta pick it up with Rush or some Ted Nugent.

Pink Floyd and The Beatles. But there are so many others out there that should be on this list too like Zeppelin, and Clapton, and Hendrix, etc.

At my age, I am suppose to be a typical classic rock fan. I grew up with the stuff, I should be all over it.

Screw that.

Every time I hear a classic rock radio station, I think of the radio station my parents listened to when I grew up, that played nothing but the songs of the 40s and 50s when they grew up. Getting stuck in an era for me is the first step towards growing old and thinking that everything modern is loud and annoying.

Sorry, can't do it. What do I listen to? http://www.edge.ca

Classic most often means stale.

You dont have to be stuck in the classic rock era in order to like the bands. I love classic rock, but it's not all i listen to. What I think sucks about classic rock is that it's starting to incorporate bands like the Police and Bon Jovi. Bands from the 80's are not classic rock to me and should have their own title. Don't mix that lame ass shit in with the great classic rock bands just because they're coming up on 20 or 30 years old.

The Beatles. Otherwise, I'd say Black Sabbath, but that's more hard rock/metal.

I'm sure I'm in a big time minority here, but I fucking HATE the Beatles. Sure they have a song or two that aren't bad, but I can't stand them. Sorry, just had to say that. Enjoy your day.
