Yep they are. I had an 87 GT Fastback as a second car. I was looking for some pics last night and came across a site where both of those care are (maybe were) for sale. Both look damn good too!

I had a 1973 Vega I bought for $500. It burned oil like hell and fouled the plugs every day. I used to have a bag full of spark plugs that I would sandblast at work and reuse them. I think I had the only Vega that went over 100k miles with the original engine.

Here's mine. A 1972 Plymouth Fury III

That 318 could make you fly! One seat across the front, another across the back. Only an AM radio (no FM), but it had A/C. I miss that car.

'97 Jeep Wrangler... bought it on the day of my high school graduation and drove it to the prom (I was already telecommuting for a dotcom at the time and making pretty good money for an 18 year old).

But mine was the Olympic Edition... And I had a wicked Alpine "CD" player and subs in it from profits of selling mushrooms *had a revamped airfilter that acted as a shroom stash along with custom added safes along the wheel wells*. Would pull up beside the Gino Machinos *irocs and such* and out stereo them but with Skinny Puppy instead of C&C music factory. Of course I was always on mushrooms or acid.. so its possible I only had a 3 speed bike with a sony walkman.

Ooops! My bad, this is the only pic I could find. I have some pics of the one I had but they're on a CD that I can't seem to find right now. This makes me think I should clean up the house.

Btw, I sold it and I can tell you it was the dumbest thing I did last year. That and setting the house on fire.

I bought my first car for $75

A 1973 Volkswagen Bug

I remember saying "If it starts, I will buy it!"
It did... and had a bunch of extra parts and tires.

I drove it for a year until the engine blew.

Looked like this but much more rusted

Great car for a teenage pimp...

About 3 months after getting my lisence I dorve this 350 block into a convience store ... man this baby had kick! LOL

quickly followed by a 1979 parisienne .. bought it off my dad for a dollar. it didn't have a carburator so I needed speed to go up hills ... this car broke down so many times .. and cost a fortune to gas up , even back then ...

Mine was two tone blue

First one I technically "owned" was a black 1989 Chevy stepside 4X4. I loved that truck. It was from a police auction, repo'd from a drug dealer.

I slapped a huge ass roll bar and 4 giant offroad lights on it and used to take it mud running all the time. It had the rubber floor so you could just hose it down and wipe it down with armor all and it looked like new again. It also had the 350 so I had trouble keeping tires on it due to all the burnouts I used to do.

Unfortunately one night when I got so drunk I was puking, I had to have a friend drive my truck home since he was "sober". He ended up driving right into a bush down a dead end road and I woke up to the sensation of the truck rolling through a ditch and ending up on its roof. (Thank god for the roll bar)

I guarantee I would have made it home even in my horrible condition. I shouldn't have let that fucker drive. Then he had the nerve to ask me to pay for the ambulance bill.

1982 Holden JB Camira (Australia)

In the couple of years I had it in the mid 90s the cost of repairs easily exceeded the purchase price. In the above photo the timing belt broke. Piece of shit.

Hmm this is bringing back memories... the piece of shit Camira with 3 speed automatic.

If you needed a burst of speed and wanted to kick down from third into second, the engine would make a horrible clatter and spew out smoke for a few seconds before the transmission changed.

In reverse it was gutless, you could hear and feel the "clunk-clunk-clunk" through the floor as you floored it. Once I actually had to get someone to push me out of a mild downhill incline in a car park...

When it started leaking transmission fluid the kickdown from second to first at low speeds didn't work properly, once you accelerated the engine would rev like it was in neutral and then suddenly loudly CLUNK and lurch into drive a second later. Kinda embarrassing when you're taking a corner.

One brake caliper locked, the first I knew was having problems stopping (!!!) on a very steep downhill run. The front wheel was smoking for 5 minutes after I managed to pull over safely.

The A/C didn't work... the engine was so gutless that a previous owner had disconnected the belt.

Water pump went in the middle of driving, and made a horrible racket.

Then as per above the timing belt broke while I was rolling. Luckily there was no engine damage, all it needed was the belt itself to be replaced. Unfortunately we were a long way from home and it was a holiday long weekend so it was a bit more involved to get it fixed.

I ended up trying some higher octane unleaded petrol in it which gave it a new lease on life, but I think I missed using the lead replacement additive a couple of times (the engine requires leaded fuel) so eventually the engine started playing up. At that time I said fuck it, and traded it in for another car.

Oh man if I ever move back to Vancouver I will get another new Jeep... Women just gravitate to it regardless of how much it's worth, it's just that sexy of a vehicle.

Not a lot of people in this country understand my '80 CJ7 though

Since I saw "Bullit" for the first time as a kid there was no other car I would wish to drive more than the Mustang. Seems like most of the cars from 60's and start 70's had a really recognisable character (or maybe I am just too much into muscle cars).

It's like a Fender Stratocaster in guitars or something, noone can say why exactly, but the design and curves are hard to beat.

At that time I said fuck it, and traded it in for another car.
lol - sounds like a real piece of art
