Tennis has lost all it's luster and charismatic players

So Wimbeldon came and went quietly, yet it was Federer's record setting 5th straight Wimbeldon in a epic 5 set match and underdog Venus captured her 4th title.

Is it just me or has this sport taken a huge nosedive since McEnroe, Connors, Sampras, Agassi, etc?

Did anyone besides me watch some or all of the finals?

I used to sit and watch almost all of the games on TV when Wimbeldon was on. This year (and last) i hardly bothered watching any of it. It just seems too boring, and too predictable now.

I can hardly watch a guys tennis match, as it's really all about the serve, and you hardly get any decent rallies in the whole match.

Womens tennis (apart from the obvious reason) is better to watch as the games do have some decent moments in them, but because of those 2 almost men-like sisters, even that has lost it's sparkle and competitive edge...

what you're saying is that there are no American superstars - Americans have no interest in anything but their own. For tennis to come back in the US it needs American men to dominate or at least be even with the Federer's.

Pete Samprass had zero personality or charisma.

Connors, McEnroe and the young Agassi - that's what tennis needs to be relevant again in the US.

Well I agree and poor Andy Roddick will probably go down as one of the best unknown players of all time, wrong place wrong time I guess

Ive never been a big fan of tennis but I used to love watching Miroslav Mecir, a real class act despite I believe serving in the Czechoslovakian army at the time.

Oh yeah I watched it pretty much every day, not just the finals.
I dont know.. I think it was more of an event back in the days of Borg, Connors and McEnroe etc. I never liked Sampras at all.. was very boring to me. Alot of the men were, because they went from being more finesse to being 7 feet tall and nothing but a massive serve.. THAT was more boring than today IMHO.
