"i have zero respect for white-collar workers"

are you saying that the work of each human is your personal criteria for respect? Isn't someone that working online a white-collar worker?

RogerV 09-02-2002 04:47 PM

Yep I hear ya

My dad owned a constuction company in LA for 30 years and I worked for him since I was 14 digging ditches and labor work.

I had to work my way up to Management. I am first generation here and my dad came to the states with 2 bucks he is retired with millions because of hard labor work. and he still doesn't speak english that great. He is Hungarian in any case I understand we have our rights and we should protect them.

7 years ago I decided I was done with labor work since I saw how it beat my dad up over the years.
and poof here I am today. No white collar just in my underwear at my desk. gotta luv this country

dunno. personally i own one suit, for court and funerals. havent worn it in about 4 years. of course atm i am not digging ditches or pounding nails, but as soon as one of my friends calls up with a job i will be part-time webmastering again

sort of a gray area there

so many people do this part-time it would be hard to pinpoint who would qualify and who wouldn't

well roger, whatever you get out of life, i welcome you to it :)

seeing my stepdad at age 40 stooped over with a bad back sort of woke me up, i stopped doing concrete work and carpentry, now i paint houses. hand-brushed trim, faux and custom work in sandestin resorts and destin pointe, a few of the local condo communities. most of the work is latex so i dont really worry about the effects of solvents

let the young men hang the sheetrock and pour the concrete, i am not quite 30 yet and already have bursitis from too many years hunched over pulling a flat rake and running floats and mags

as for working in your underwear, yeah its the greatest! if i could figure out how to actually make money selling porn i would do nothing else :) well thats not entirely true, if somebody calls up with a painting job paying good money i always help them out. got a lot of friends in the business here and we take care of each other

I think a lot of "management" types and suits are leeches. However, it is laughable (see: :1orglaugh ) to suggest that the world doesn't need any white-collar workers and managers. I'd love to see how efficient our society would be if everyone had a hands-on job. Specialization is what got out out of the stone age!

Respect has to do with the personality and not with what job someone does. When i was learning english I didn't pay attention to color-collar words of the english language because I never thought they would be useful or that they'll be used.

You're not the brightest of folk, i understand. But how can you be so naive about the insinuation of 17 in club17. And if you still don't think that's what the 17 is insinuating. Take not of what jpv posted:

Clubseventeen has been around long before the internet. It has been a popular name brand of a magazine featuring 17 year old models...

"US Webmasters Pushing 17"

As in... webmasters who are 16, almost 17. Probably more of those on here than the kind you were actually talking about.

i'm dating a girl who fits that description.

...and she's totally legal (in my state).

sorry, no pics. i'm sure you understand.

Well, but what does "seventeen" imply if not something like "slightly underage"? What would you think about a site calling itself "slightlyunderagegirls.com"? even if there were a notice that they were just joshing you, and the girls were all actually 18.

Of course you realize that most likely in your state if you aren't married to her and you are older than 18 -- which might be a big assumption on this board -- that you are likely to be committing statutory rape?

Many a parent who liked their daughters older boyfriend has gone ballistic when they realized they were having sex, and made things miserable for the guy...

Chris R 09-02-2002 11:28 PM

Stautory rape is only if the girl is under the age of consent. It is 16 in his state.

http://www.ageofconsent.com/ageofconsent.htm

He can be 95 - and as long as she is 16 - he is ok - but he can't post pics of her naked...

As far as the club17 goes - I think there are two ways to look at it.

The LAW is PROBABLY on your side, but it won't stop a prosecutor for arguing what some other have done on here.

It does SEEM to suggest she is 17, but it is/was a brand.

Just as Coca-Cola used to have cocaine in it - they shouldn't have to change their name just cause there is no longer cocaine in it (yes I know they still use spent coca leaves - the analogy isn't perfect I admit)

Where do you draw the line - you aren't going to here free6.com getting in trouble for promoting 6 year olds. Ore oneverify for promoting one year olds...

RogerV 09-02-2002 11:43 PM

Thats all I was trying to say is where do we draw the line. Meaning the industry as a whole.
If I wanted to Could I launch a site called club16 since I have a buddy who owns a club called that?

Was this club17 mag sold in the US? or Just overseas

I have never seen it before can I grab one at my local smut shop.
