Again, when were these mythical old days? I started in early '98, and recall a lot of ripping and outright thievery back then, so when are we talking here?

I read some of the old boards from before my time and it seemed to me there was a fairly large amount of people helping themselves to content.

I had an entire site of mine copied outright by some fuckstick in Germany. Many dozens of my custom thumbs were grabbed by other lazy shits and displayed boldly on their sites with not so much as a thankyou to me.

Sunup media and several other content providers started contacting independant webmasters one by one back then, threatening legal action and forcing guys to close their sites down due to infringements. Celebs went on crusades to find and fry infringing webmasters. Does the name Alyssa Milano ring a bell?

Anyone remember the disclaimer "All content on this site is believed to be in the 'public domain'" etc... that was on thousands of sites back then. What about all the scan sites? Centerfold sites?

So when was this golden age when there was no such thing as thievery?
