honestly never bought into the PS3, have the PS2 and a Wii plus GameCube along with a few others - but I'll take your word for it -

Everything is pretty fucking clutch about the PS3 except the nagging fact that it doesn't have any good games. Large problem, hopefully correctable. I was playing a little Elder Scrolls IV last night and its definately the best game for the PS3 so far.

I won one in a raffle on the 4th. 3 games came with it. Only one will play for shit in 1080i or 1080p. Theres an issue with upscaling that will muddy up the graphics on anything higher than 720p on ALOT of the games. Every game I own for the 360 (about 25 of them) plays FINE in 1080i or p.
Additionally: the dashboard sucks, theres a shit selection of games and the built in wireless is iffy at best.
I like the browser, the bluetooth and the half dozen usb ports. That's it. Fuck blue ray.

Yup, I understand they have been able to drop the production costs but they will still be losing a few hundred per console. The 360 actually makes money for m$ now. It's going to be hard for sony to turn things around. Guess we will find out what sony have planned for the future at e3.Comment

Same for the 360. Every console loses a good chunk of $$ on the actual console. They make it back on the extra controllers and accessories ;)
PS3 is in a bad spot since launch. They're losing (lost) almost all their console exclusive titles to to lackluster sales. Game makers only make $$ when they sell millions of copies of games. With the 360 selling 10million units+, game makers want in on that boat to make $.
Right now, the PS3 still needs many firmware updates to their software as well as a whole slew of titles to make it somewhat attractive. It has potential, but they should not have delayed as long as they did. It cost them dearlyFormerly known as Adult Rental Chris

Yeah the 360 is a great system. Its nice to see they are getting most of the formerly exclusive titles to PS.
Sony needs to take a bigger loss on the PS3 so they can start moving units and not loose out on a large market share. If they don't the ps3 might end up where it is now, 3rd.Comment

The scaling problems are because the 360 has a dedicated hardware scaler. PS3 has a software scaler that just further bogs down the system when used for rendering games.264-543-302Comment

They are giving everybody with an xbox360 a 3 year warranty extension. It's not going to end up costing them a billion that's just an estimate. But they will also make a lot of that money back by people being secure in knowing if anything happens to their 360 it will be taken care of. I'm very happy with the 360 and it's served me well for many hours without an issue.

It happened on mine about last summer. The warranty had just expired and I was pretty pissed off about it.
I called up xbox support, went thru some steps with the tech guy, he determined it was a hardware failure, and shipped a box to me overnight to send in my 360 for repair. They had it back to me in 8 days and it didnt cost me a dime for anything. Considering that I got the 360 for free anyway, I really didnt have anything to complain about. I havent had any problems with it since then, but I dont really play it very much.
I also have a Nintendo Wii (thanks Splitinfinity!) but I dont play it much either. The games are fun (in a simplistic way) but the picture doesnt look all that great on my HDTV like my 360 does.Comment
