Hey guys, not sure how much time I have online right now - my net connection has been dropping constantly for the past two days spent my ENTIRE 4th working on this hoping to get it fixed for today. Something is wrong and all of the normal things one would do to fix them have not worked.

Anyway, anyone with pending ICQ's, or unanswered questions please give me a bit of time, hoping to have everything cleared up tonight/by tomorrow.

For the techie people out there: Ever since I put a Vista machine into my network my wireless connection has been fucked up, and speeds are way down. It was somewhat tolerable for a while but now it's every 1-2 minutes I am dropping connection.

FYI it's not my ISP, modem or router - signal is good, reading as excellent across the board.

My signal is great, been through 2 new routers with the same thing - just went and got all new EVERYTHING today and am going to be doing a process of elimination now.

If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them.

Just plug your main box directly into the modem and see how it does.

go into your vista network settings and change the dns you are using to 2 of the following

4.2.2.1
4.2.2.2
4.2.2.3
4.2.2.4

just chose two, they all work great

I was w/o DSL for a month - so I thought. Seems the phone cable surge protector was screwed up (just that one outlet). Of course, it was the last thing I checked.

I've had 2 laptops with Vista now and sent them both back.
