I finally saw Vanilla Sky the other night, what a waste of two hours. Talk about terrible.

Yesterday I bought Ali and Shallow Hal, haven't seen them yet but they should be good. Everyone says Shallow Hal is a riot, hope so!

How can this list have Stand By Me but not The Goonies? Two classic movies, damn I remember when my dad rented Stand By Me when I was like 5, haha... good times.

A.P.E.

http://us.imdb.com/Title?0074148

This movie rocks!

One of the user comments about this movie :

"Watch in horror as the A*P*E Mercilessly attacks the same building in 5 different shots, and then sometimes the same shot repeated later in the film. Marvel at the special effects as foam pieces fly off the "rocks" that fall toward the same three men also repeated about five times. Become engrossed in the finely developed characters, and their emotional dialogue like "Just too big for a small world like ours," or "Lets see him dance for his organ grinder now!"

If the makers of this film were serious, I'll be a monkey's uncle, haha. But seriously, you'll have an ape of a time(I don't even think people say that one). I'm not monkeying around; you'll go bananas!

Important note: you can see the head part of the ape costume moving seperately from the rest of the costume and you don't even have to be looking.

Here's what I really think: It's bad, oh boy is it ever, especially the repeated stock footage and footage from other movies, and the 3 minutes, LITERALLY 3 MINUTES, of time wasted by showing children playing with a puppet. There is a shot of firemen rushing through the supposedly panic-stricken city but look closely(or not so closely you can still see it); In the background you can see people shopping. Let's not forget the ending (don't worry, you won't care if I tell you how it ends) which is 15 minutes of tanks shooting, soldiers running up to the camera looking into it, and then shooting 3 or 4 rounds out of a rifle I'm certain only holds one round(I don't know anything about guns, but it had the handle dealy on the side that you cock to load and unload). All this while the ape disco dances which I suppose is him being shot and reacting, but I would think that all that firepower and he would probably run away. Then the ape dies. You can tell it's going to happen too, because after what seems like hours of being shot in the head and chest, the A*P*E vomits blood. These things are the reason to watch the movie. I'm not exaggerating when I say A*P*E is one of the funniest films of all time."

Well...anyone that says XXX was great & Vanilla Sky sucked...well, just saying how great XXX was ya kinda loose all credibility. I haven't seen XXX yet, but movies like that are created for weak minded people that have no imgination. Vanilla Sky wasn't great, but fairly decent. The ending just sucked...

I agree Sykk...Tanebaums is fuckin' hilarious!

Saw Goldfinger.

Pretty damn funny actually.

Anyone seen Fear Dot Com yet? Haven't heard anything asbout that flick, and I could use a good scare.

And sometimes poor special effects just add to a movie. Remember Evil Dead? How the guys would get pinned under those flimsy bookshelves, struggling to get some shitty partical boards off of them as the possessed zombies closed in?

That movie has zero replay value. You watch it once and thats enough. Who the hell hasn't seen it before?
It doesn't seem like the movie you would want to buy and watch it over and over.

I watched serving sara a few nights ago and enjoyed the film. Fuck the reviews, (which slam the movie) its decent and worth watching.

I can't believe nobody mentionned "Requiem for a dream"

This has to be the most depressing movie I have seen recently. The whole movie is a bad trip. What's your fix?

Im sorry but that list is retarded
Memento (2000) 8.7/10 (38727 votes)
Is an ok movies but does not rank even close to top 10.
and that Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The (2001) 8.8/10 (69524 votes)
Garbage proves that "all time greatest" list is way to about the moment

Further more

42 Requiem for a Dream (2000) 8.3/10 (16634 votes)
42?? come on how can momento be 10 and that be 42nd ?
they were out about the same time too..?

Are you kidding? Sure, great cinematography, adn the movie was actually good. But Platoon, and Full Metal Jacket, are by far, better war movies. And those aren't the only two. That old German Movie, U-Boat or whatever it was called. Also a very good war movie.

And about that list.. I don't entirely agree with the ordering, and in my opinion, a fair few shouldn't be there.. But it's probably one of the most reasonable lists i've seen. Although, Shawshank Redemption should be ahead of The Godfather

Now THAT was a boring movie. Only Steven Spielberg could get away with a dead boring war movie. After the first ten minutes, the movie fell flat and never recovered.

My two favourite war movies are "Apocalypse Now" and "Gallipoli"
