A post like that seems completely out of character for Pathfinder, so I have a suspicion it's true.
If it's true, it is a huge loss to this board, and my condolences go out to the family.
Please post a location to send flowers/what have you to, I liked the guy a lot from his posts, I'd like to show my respects.

When I had bookstore, one of my favorite customers killed herself and within a few hours her husband was down at my store telling me of the loss. Anyway, you never know what one does when one is in shock of a death.. I was told he started throwing her books in a dumpster after she died..

Speaking from a military point of view Iraq it is a strategic piece of realestate.

I don't believe that in a time of sorrow like the death of a father, a son would take the time to write a lengthy obituary for his father on a bulletin board full of smut-peddling lowlifes (like us).
The title "Pathfinder is dead" does not strike me as an appropriate or likely title for a son to use as a tribute to his recently deceased father.
Finally, the writing styles are just too similar. That's like handwriting. I also use capital letters and double spacing, but it's not the same. Both Pathfinder's posts and his "son"'s posts use short, clipped military-style sentences seperated by double spaces. You inherit a lot of things from your parents, but I doubt that BBS posting style is one of them.
However, unlike a lot of you, I think this is hilarious if it's a hoax. It's one of the most amusing things I have read recently.
