Canon 30D Shooters
I turned on my 30D and got a "Err CF" message,
I formatted the card and got a "Err 99" message, I pulled off the battery grip, reinstalled the cameras battery door, inserted a battery in the camera, then the camera works. I put the battery grip back on and now the camera works fine? Anyone ever had this happen?

It sounds like your memory card try another. Pull it out, put it back in carefully etc.

Try cleaning the contacts on the lens and the body of the camera. It's a lens issue. I use an eraser when this happened with mine. Chances are your lens contacts are dirty.

Err 99 is a general message when the camera feels sick but doesn't know why ;)

The 30D doesnt like lenses that arent made by Canon. So it will give you that error if you use a lens that requires too much voltage.
As for the CF error. Thats a compact flash error... The memory card is not seated right or not compatible. I use SanDisk CF cards. |
