I think our HBO is still just the normal kind, though I haven't really looked lately. What's this all about? Can you watch The Sopranos anytime you want instead of waiting until Sunday night or whenever it's on?

this is done with Tivo or some PVR of the like right?

instead of just a cable box you get the recorder box as well, then with an HBO subscription you get to watch the episodes they previously recorded to the box beforehand.. (probably a special channel they use to "upload" the episodes each month)

only way I can think of how this would work.

I believe this is done through digital cable. They have all their content available in some big database somewhere, and if you pay for it, you can watch whatever you want. Video On Demand is the wave of the future, and HBO seems to be slightly ahead of the curve. Movie studios are looking to make big bucks by offering all their titles at any time of day for a small fee. It's super sexy.

No.. I only have my digital cable box.. it doesnt record anything... you choose the stuff from their database and it gets transferred over i guess.. i am not sure if they offer future presentations but right now i can see at least 200 programs listed here..
