Seems like fun!!...

Mr. Cool Ice 06-26-2007 04:56 PM

just out of curiosity, what are there so many rappers at these parties?

the rock idea is cool, but all the rap... blah. though, im not sure how well the rock is going to go over in a party atmosphere. i hope it does well.

or is this a fat webmaster wanting to pretend to be a real pimp, and with the help of rap, for one or two nights can achieve this goal inside the safety of a guarded room?

im not hatin on ya d-money, just curious why it always has to be rap. :Oh crap

how about Tiesto, or another world famous DJ for a change of pace? Or... have a hillbilly ho-down and get the Charley Daniels Band? I think you guys need to think outside the box when it comes to artist. you can still have a bad ass party, and NOT have hip hop. :2 cents:

D-Money, a serious question man.

Why is that every year you come here asking what people want to see at the next playersball when your shows always end up being the same rap genre?

I mean, you KNOW it's going to be rap like always man, lol........so why even bother asking everyones opinion? Why be a concert-tease mentioning names like nine inch nails, and then come back with this?

Not trying to hate, but had to ask......

NIN and Ying Yang Twins should not even be mentioned in the same sentence. :2 cents:

Those metal mouth idiots are not fit to clean Trent Reznor's car.

I get the best artist available for the money the sponsors contribute. This time, the best deal for the dollar was Ying Yang.

But in January, we did George Clinton and P-Funk, that's not rap!

Well, I appreciate the honesty and the question.

I always ask for opinions on talent to help me decide if webmasters would appreciate certain shows. I don't ask names like NIN to be a tease, I do it because I'm seriously interested in booking them.

But in the end, I throw names out there to get the interest in sponsors.

When I throw out a name and I find out they're available, then it's a reality as long as the webmasters are prepared to become sponsors. When I don't get the sponsor support, we go from Kid Rock type of names down to Metal Skool. And Metal Skool will be dope for a rock show, but if I had my choice, I'd go bigger budget. But like I said, if we can't get the support from the people who pay for it, we can't do it.

And once I threw the name Snoop Dogg out there, ended up not getting him. But then the next year, we got him. So don't be surprised when I do land one of your favorite big names. Rock is just harder to book when they're not on tour. I don't throw names out there to be a tease though, I do it with the intent on making it happen.
