Bullshit. Do you have a single picture of you on a trail or obstacle? An no, not the pictures of it in your driveway covered in mud. You could get muddy driving through an empty lot in your neighborhood. I'm talking about an actual trail, or obstacle.

trashymedia 06-20-2007 11:44 PM

owner-hater

We own an H2, had it for a year and a half. I have to say it is a bit of a piece of shit. I don't know if we just got lucky with this one, or if it is indicative of issues with the H2, but a new truck going back to the dealer 10 times in one year is a bit much. We drove an H3 as a replacement while ours was being fixed...good god that thing is a joke. It is a glorified Jeep with a Hummer logo on it. Granted Hummer did a fabulous job of marketing it, because now those who cannot afford an H2 can still say they own a Hummer. As far as the H1 we considered buying one, but for the money they wanted, we could buy 6 Pinzgauers and ride in better comfort. I cannot imagine spending that much money on a car that does not even have leather fucking seats. Granted it was cool to drive and made you want to run into things, but that is a whole other story...

SleazyDream 06-20-2007 11:47 PM

i find it weird that they actually run on gas. My opinion is that a hummer with it's size and need for torque should be a deisel moter. Running them on gas is just a waste.

poindexxer 06-20-2007 11:49 PM

i always hated hummers till i found a gal who was good at it.

I chuckle when I remember the video of some dumbass who took his brand new H2 up a steep slope in the woods and nearly snapped his wheel off on a large root.

H2 aren't Hummers, they are remodeled Tahoe/Yukon.

What trail was it? I know the trails in Cali too. Sounds like you're just stalling so you can go grab some poser pics.

And seriously, I love your photog work and you seem like a cool guy. But it definitely seems like you talk alot of B.S. about your 40k Tahoe. I'm just calling you out on that. :winkwink:

atom 06-22-2007 09:34 AM

I would never buy an H2 but dont give a fuck if someone else has one, different strokes, blah blah. I had a tahoe and my buddy had an H2. Not sure if it was because of the smaller windows in the hummer but my buddys H2 seemed a hell of a lot smaller in the interior. Now i drive a silverado because unlike the tahoe, I can haul dirt, atv's, portable ice house, etc in the back.

will76 06-22-2007 09:44 AM

Update, I took a little 180 mile trip last night. 90% highway driving. I averaged 58 mph over the course of about 2 hours . I burned 13 gallons approx, it came out to 13.8 mpg I burned. Really not that bad, right up there with other big SUV's and Dully trucks, 8 cylinder cars, etc..

Were they taking the same line? It's hard to tell since the H2 was filmed from down below the hill, the other two are filmed from up ontop the hill. The far right line (which the H2 took) is the easiest line on potato salad. Any more towards the left are much much harder. The video of the CJ looked to be much farther to the left, the XJ was hard to tell.

Example; https://youtube.com/watch?v=tgu0T...elated&search=
Notice how the Jeep on the left line has a harder time getting up?

None-the-less.

I'd love to do some serious off roading in one of them. Pushing a vehicle to the limits would be fun. I'm just a big kid inside.

Jeep guys love to pick on the h2, the luxury 4x4 of hummers.. and yet they ignore the Humvee, which simple owns a Jeep's ass.

The H1 (humvee) is a whole other story. There is a reason the base price for the H1 starts at $131,000 compared to the base price for the H2 at $42,000. Most people don't have a problem with the humvee because it is offroad capable. There are plenty of non-Jeep vehicles that perform awesome off road. On trips I see Yotas, Zuks, and even some fords and chevys (rare). Problem with the H2 owners is they think they have an amazing 4x4 and brag about their glorified tahoe. 90% of them don't even know they're really driving a Chevy Tahoe with a big plastic frame imprinted with the hummer logo.

that, I cannot stand either... women have enough trouble driving let alone get behind the wheel of an H2

$42,000??? No way. Find me one for 42K. The base base model when I bought mine was low 52K's if I remember right. Mine priced out around 63.

Now to all you people saying it is too expensive this and that. Well in mycase I have a realative who works at GM, my total was 63 or so got that down to 51K then because of the weight of the vehicle (loop hole with taxes you dont even need to use it for work) I was able to write it off 100% got 1/3 of my money back from less I had to pay in taxes so when it was all said and done I paid about 35K for my H2 and it was a nicer model with lots of extras.

Fap 06-25-2007 08:47 PM

Hummer? No thanks, i dont need to compensate for anything :winkwink:

potter 06-26-2007 11:49 PM

I'm wondering if the older models started at 42k? Because I swear their site used to have base model starting at 42k. My memory could just be fucked up though. Don't see what the big deal is anyway, 42k 52k 62k. It's all the same when compared to the base price of the H1. Because the H1 is actually a Hummer. Not a gayed up Tahoe.

some people call it "gayed up" others call it "luxury".

I didn't want a military vehicle. If I did I would have got a H1. I don't want a jeep, I wanted something really nice looking, and nice in the inside, with a smooth ride and lots of space. And something that could pull, and go off road.

You kidding me? When i worked at a gas station, there was a lady who came in every weekend, to fill up, don't those beasts have 120 litre tanks? Filling those up with even a 10 cent/litre difference is price will be significant, since last year gas is up around 40 cents/litre here in Canada. Were hovering around 1.13/litre (1.13 (U.S. cents / litre) = 4.27751533 U.S. cents / US gallon) (blah were almost par anyways now) - it has GOT to be getting stupidly expensive for driving H2 or H3s now... I'm seeing less and less of them now where last year, I can definately remember them being around alot more.
