On a serious note though... what are other costs like up there compared to stateside? General food, taxes, property, day to day things? Is it more cost effective to be Canadian then American?

Giving a possible move some serious thought in the coming months/years...

Try http://www.sunwing.ca/, they don't fly out of every city and don't fly daily but their prices are about half of WestJet, Toronto to MTL is 50 bucks each way plus airport taxes for example

I got flights from edmonton to Vancouver for 69 bucks.
Flights from Edmonton to Toronto for 99 bucks.
But I have also paid 400 for those flights too

My best friend's dad worked for air canada, they took FULL advantage of those $25 flights. One of the best perks you could ever get!

I usually drive to Spokane and fly from there instead. Usually save $250 or so each trip by doing it.
