its pretty easy to beat tickets. check your local bookstores for books about it that are applicable to your states laws. i have a relative that i think has beaten every ticket he's ever got. if nothing else, judges really appreciate someone that comes in there, has done their homework, acts mature (not like a teenage wigger moron on drugs), acts respectful and makes an argument. no matter what, he will most likely reduce it to something else.

I don't think fighting your ticket is even worth your time. Pay the fine and move on. However, if you fight the ticket in any way, there is a good chance it will be dropped or have the fines reduced.

My last ticket was for when I was clocked at 130mph - "exceeding 100mph" was the violation. I went to court and one woman got a ticket for 15mph over the limit - She went off on the judge and he slammed her pretty hard. Me on the other hand, I went in and said "Yeppers, guilty, sorry about that your honor but it happens" and I got off with a smaller fine than her and no points on my license.

I agree. Traffic judges get sick and tired of hearing the "I didn't do anything wrong" argument. If you admit to it and say you are sorry, especially if this is your first and only offense, they should let you off easy.

In the end, traffic tickets are all about money.

It is when you already have a certain number of points and these extra ones will increase your lisense & registration fees by hundreds or in some cases thousands of dollars. Then it's probably worth it to try and dispute the ticket.

Here in Winnipeg we have a company called "Points -- the traffic ticket specialists", all former police officers who will consult with you and help you fight the ticket, for a fee of course. They know the ropes and how to beat the system in a lot of cases, and if they find anything at all wrong with the ticket you were issued or how it was issued etc they can usually beat it.

I went with my Granny recently since I heard it was easy to get out of paying them if you just show up. We had a really nice judge who was dropping all of them as "warnings".

This surely wasn't my first offense.

I went to court that day and was stunned at what I saw. Granted it was in Phoenix, but everyone was wearing shorts, talking on cell phones, chewing gum, eating.... And people were so disrespectful towards the judge.

One guy answered his cell phone in the courtroom. The judge stopped everything and just stared at this guy. When the guy figured out that everything had stopped because of his call, he hung up, the judge called him to the bench. The judge asked him why he was in court, and told him to come back next week.

I was the only one who was wearing pants, shows, a dress shirt, and a tie. He told us in the beginning when you plead it's either "guilty" or "not guity" - not "guilty with some stupid excuse". I walked up, he read the charges, asked how I pleaded and I pleaded guilty. Everything was yes sir / no sir. He looked me over, dropped the fine and the points and told me not to do it again.
