Ok, Does a Pro design make a big difference?

We do all our own stuff
Take a look please http://www.debsdeepthroat.com
I have been told a pro design will make conversions soar....
Will it really? Has anyone ever went from an amateur design to pro...if
so what was the difference? Was it a lil or huge?
And how do you know how to choose a designer that will make the site
reach its potential?
Sorry for all the questions...thanks in advance

Are you Paul Markham? You post a lot like him.

In any case for me amateurish designs have always done better than glossy pro ones.

I'm sure mileage will vary from person to person.

I would suggest changing things up and see for yourself what works best.

Design helps but keep focusing on that content. It looks good and honestly as our company is moving forward we are focusing less on how perfect the design looks but more on putting our best content on the tours and this has really increased our sales. Over 200% in less then 9 months

Were you told that by a pro designer?

I didn't go through every inch of your tour, and there may well be things there that need tweaked. But I can't see the benefit of an amateur wife type of site having a glossy, slick site.

That's just my

Hit me up on ICQ. I want to give you a URL for an article that you should read before you go and pay for a new design.

Cant post it here.
Its about Design and SE.

I would say its more of the layout and useability.

Your site doesn't have either though.

"pro designs" usually appeal more to affiliates than surfers...
but having a pro design doesn't mean it has to be flashy...it just has to be effective.

it doesnt have to look good, it has to have good marketing on it too. you could have 2 amateurish tours and one could be 10x better than the other.

i suggest making a SECOND tour and testing a little bit of traffic on it.

for your type of site I would say no, a glossy pro looking site would actually scare the type of people who like your site away

I wouldn't be surprised either way.

What I would do is pay for a pro design, try it and see what happens to conversions. Be prepared to throw the old tour back up if it doesn't improve conversions.

You can keep it amateur'ish but make sure the surfers knows what to click and what the site is about. You have to tease the visitor in the tour and show them a bit what they'd more of when purchasing the product.

That's imo what really matters, amateur designs with proper marketing tactics will do better than pro designs with bad marketing.

Thanks i have had some great offers. Maybe what I am thinking is how to optimize the site for affiliates and surfers. So I am thinking an amateurish design but layed out the best it can be content wise/wording etc....
So it may not be pro that I want but a better more effecient layout to attract more surfers and affiliates.

Completely agree. A slick tour would NOT benefit your concept. Surfers need to see something that seems forbidden.... something they think they shouldn't be seeing.

That similar to what we have been thinking...As I said, I think what I am looking to do is get some help optimizing everything. This new girl is HOT and I know she will do well. The signups are up, but I feel they could be much higher. She has what it takes....I just need to promote her better.
Any help or advice is appreciated
Thanks Much
