i am sure your daughter can have a near normal and happy life if she has supportive and loving family.
you are in a bind as these people are family to you and your daughter so ignoring them or telling them to eat shit just will not be appropriate. you will need to discuss with them and inform them how inappropriate those comments are and that you would appreciate if instead they can show support and love for the child. obviously if there is a god, he/she is plenty busy looking at more devastating realities in the universe, and i think god is more focused on positive aspects of life (if there is a god). |

That's silly.. Many children who are born with disabilities and challenges are destined for greatness later in life. Perhaps fate has earmarked your daughter for just such a special treatment, and for great things, but she needs the challenge of the disability to shape her into the person she needs to be to fulfill that task. Just because someone is different doesn't mean it's punishment.
