There's one major flaw in your plan here. You are saying that sites/companies should give their stuff out for much cheaper, because they're already "giving it away" by offering memberships and trials? That's all fine and well and good if you're Wal-Mart, but dropping the price doesn't make the cost of producing massive amounts of paysite content drop.
