If You Want To Buy Season Tickets For The New Hamilton Predators NHL Franchise

http://www.ticketmaster.ca/event/100... &minorcatid=9

I bought 2 in the lower bowl... My other buddies bought like 4-6 seats as well.

I would advise you get on this asap as they will sell out quickly... I am sooooo crossing my fingers this goes thru, I might give up my undying leafs support to back the new team in the Hammer!!!!

good luck, lower bowl will have some good resale value as well for the games you can't attend.

Hamilton is getting a team?! Thats pretty cool actually. I hate that the NHL expanded to so many warm weather US states... what do you think the prices will be like? Leafs seasons tickets are getting out of control expensive

I think you are just putting down a deposit per seat. Nothing official about a team yet as far as I know.

The only way the team moves is if Nashville's attendance drops on average below 14,000 per game, and the city then has the option to boost it up to this level by buying tickets themselves.

The idea of getting fans in Hamilton to put the $500 down is to dis-hearten the Nashville Season Ticket drive and force the city council to either allow them to move or to pay up.

Nashville is already as good as done. This will be the last season there for sure.

This is crazy news. As someone who went to university in Hamilton, I can say beyond a doubt that if this actually happens it will really help out the floundering downtown core of Hamilton. That place has been begging for some rejuvenation for quite a while now. I bet Buffalo is not too happy about this development though.

Actually the Preds can't move until 2009-2010 at the earliest and in order to to do that they have to have less than 14,000 in paid attendance this year.

Also

Metro Finance Director David Manning said the Predators can't exercise an escape clause in their lease of the city's arena until a dispute over their "tangible net worth" is resolved. The lease requires that Metro be able to get back part of its initial $35 million investment in the Predators if the franchise leaves town before the lease expires in 2028.

The city said last year that the Predators' tangible net worth was too low to let taxpayers recover that investment. The Predators responded that Metro was miscalculating their value and accused the city of violating the lease by failing to pay a sister company's bonus fees for managing the arena.

A year's worth of negotiations haven't settled the dispute. Until it is settled, Manning said, the Predators can't invoke an escape clause available to them if paid attendance falls below certain levels for two seasons.

"The opinion of our counsel is that on that point, they are in default," Manning said.

"They're not entitled to give notice while that issue is unresolved," Manning said.

Considering the fact that Balsillie offered $238 Million to buy the team, I don't think he is too worried about an extra $20 or $30 Million to get the team out of Nashville. I'd say despite the attendance problems, this deal will come down to $$$. The only reason Balsillie didn't buy the Pens was because they wanted to keep the team there for seven years. But of course, if you bothered to google this you would already know all of this.

In case you are lazy and don't want to move your hand the extra couple of inches it would require to go to google and find the info...here is an article I found that pretty much sums it all up for you.

Ontario doesn't need a 3rd team. The Maritimes is dying for a team.

The MLSE Group won't let a team go to hamilton, hamilton is in there coverage range, & you know how much MLSE Loves money. It will never happen. If anywhere the team will go to the maritimes.

Well if the Preds have 14,000 paid attendance they CAN'T be moved. It's in the lease.

You must be stupid, any owner has to wait 7 years. About the Preds sale;

"Balsillie would have to sign a consent agreement with the NHL, including a clause that prevents a new owner from relocating the team for seven years."

I don't need your links I know more about this than you. I only live in Tennessee and I get my local news out of Nashville so of course I wouldn't be aware of what's going on.
