    What was your first car?

Mine was a 71 Monte Carlo.

It was a gift from my mom.

The frame rusted out on it though. Too bad. It was a sweet ride.

It wasn't an SS like this one. Looked just like it.

1979 Toyota Celica for my 16th birthday (yes, it was new.....yes, I'm old....).

It was $6K or so. I drove that sucker until the wheels fell off - I have no idea what the mileage was as the odometer broke. I had it for 7 years and never changed the oil, lol.

It was seriously completely falling apart when I traded it in. Worth about $100 on a good day. Learned a valuable lesson - NEVER GIVE A 16 YEAR OLD A NEW CAR!

My first car was a 1981 Renult 18i. It wasn't very common in the US. My step father ran a small import car business when I was a teenager.

It was a four banger, four door, with leather seats, cassette, AC, and power windows. While all of this sounds standard now, it wasn't back then.

Mine was a 1978 Cadillac Sedan DeVille that I purchased in '94. Fully loaded, 'cold air', and a crazy cruise control that was +/- 8miles per hour which means no using it on snowy roads.

                                        I bought a 1983 Mercury Capri ... in 1997 ... think I paid $500.

The passenger side door flew open on the occasional hard turn which always provided excitement.

1968 Volvo 4dr 4cyl. Paid $500 and drove it all over Florida for about five years and it never left me stranded. Best part was the front seats reclined flat and matched up with the back seat perfectly to form a makeshift bed. Oh how I miss the free spirited days of the 70s

1974 Jeep CJ5... imagine if you will an oxidized canary yellow (so it used to be vibrant... but just looked like a milky yellow vomit color)... rust in many strategic places...

then we put a 4" lift and 33" tires on.. rebuilt the engine, headers, tranny work, tilt steering column (instead of the bus steering wheel it came with), re-wired the whole thing...... then sold the bastard cause I hated it!!!!

                                              I now own my 4th... a 1980 CJ5.. I like this one.

                                                Mine was a 77 Thunderbird.

My first night driving it, I pulled out of my grandparents apartment, going uphill, didn't see a thing over that huge hood.

Ended up hitting a fire hydrant.

Then that night, I sneaked out of the house at 3:30 am for a booty call about 45 minutes away, my transmission blew when I got the exit. In the middle of no where in Ohio.

I had just enough cash on me to get it towed home.

I was 16, and I got away with it. Parents never found out. I was Ferris Bueller.

57 Studebaker Golden hawk. But I didnt drive it much being it was a show car. Had an 82 Chrysler Le baron Convertible. Was the first convertible to come back as a production vehicle after they banned converts for awhile. Only other ones were corvettes, but they were done 3rd party and not by GM.

Yeah, I had well over 200K miles on this one. It was a GREAT car. Had I done any maintenance at all I'd probably still be driving it!

Funny thing is, my STI is nearing 100k miles and I told myself that I would run it into the ground before I bought a new car... Huh, funny cause I said that about my accord that has almost 300k on it.

It ran on 3 of 4 cylinders the entire time I had it. The timing would constantly mess up so I'd have to gap the points with a matchbook (I didn't have feeler gauges). The gas gauge never worked so I'd run out of gas quite often, causing me to prime the carburator. Needless to say, I always carried around 5 gallons of gas. Ahh, what a fun car!
