I don't really think this was a bad ending... the whole family survives, pretty much every big hole in the story is closed... live goes on as usual, tony wins and leotardo looses.

The last 2 mins were good for curiosity, but it wasn't anything serious.

I laughed out loud when I realized this was over.

Turboface 06-12-2007 12:52 AM

I didn't get into Six Feet Under until the last season or so, but I have to say that that was the best series finale I have ever seen. They did a brilliant job. It's a shame that the Sopranos didn't go out with the same style and class.

I am shocked that HBO would let their biggest and longest running series go out like this. The only explanation is that there is probably merit to the Sopranos movie rumors, which I think would be incredible.

We shall see.

I always thought the end of "The Wonder Years" was pretty good. So was "Cheers" from memory.

It's not enough for me...
It's all I think about...

The last 2 seasons were lousy. It's as if they handed over the writing to Oprah. The last shows just capped off a totally pathetic final season so fans are projecting their 100% of their disgust at the ending.

evildick 06-12-2007 06:58 AM

The series finale of Manimal really disappointed me.

cool1 06-12-2007 07:03 AM

was cool, though a surprize, that Christopher would come back from the dead as a cat

Young 06-12-2007 07:23 AM

I've been a fan since day one and I wasn't disappointed in the ending at all.

I understood that this was a Family Drama first, then a Crime Family Drama second and I got exactly what I wanted. Closure on Tony and his family.

tranza 06-12-2007 07:38 AM

I can't wait to see the last episode....

In the finale, she explains how Dan never recovered, and he actually died. She continued to say that seasons 7-9 was a book that she wrote after Dan died, and that she was basically writing about how she thought things would be if he had, indeed, lived.

The last few seasons of the show sucked reallly bad, and for her to say it never happend, and that it was all just a book she was writing, pissed a lot of fans off. It was as if she was justifying why the last few seasons sucked and it was a totally out-the-blue ending.

I thought that was one of the best endings ever. The last seasons sucked because they were suppose to suck. Most tv shows dont plan on ending 2 years before they do. Roseanne did that and I thought she did it well.

"Newhart" had the BEST ending of a TV show in my opinion.

Agreed on both accounts

AMEN..

HBO has a history of fucking up a series finale, so I wasn't too surprised that the Sopranos ended as fucked up as it did.

Peaches 06-12-2007 08:42 AM

Seinfeld was another series finale that really pissed everyone off.

After watching the ending Soprano scenes a few more times and reading some articles about Chase, I'm liking it more. I don't love it, but I don't hate it any more and I do understand a bit why he picked that ending.

And damn, he sure got people talking!!

I thought it was fuckign awesome... bang bang the big guy's dead. everything turns to black when youre dead.

I have a feeling my fave show, Lost, will have similarly vague ending.

dig420 06-12-2007 09:47 AM

lol don't blame David Chase just because you don't get it ;) This is what made JD Salinger go into hiding.

It wasn't the fact that everyone finally came to realize that he was overrated?

Just Mike 06-12-2007 11:05 PM

Gandolfini said he has put Tony soprano behind him and has explored as much as he canor wants to withthat character. He said he will NEVER return top that character.

So I guess either tony is dead in the finale or there will be NO MOVIE.

King Adam 06-12-2007 11:08 PM

I liked the final of Sopranos. Not sure why everyone is getting so worked up.

Walrus 06-12-2007 11:51 PM

What were you guys expecting at the end? Some big ol' Hollywood shoot 'em up bang bang bang ending? That would have been really lame. I thought the ending was fantastic. He left it to the viewers to decide what happens next. Requires a little imagination.

hahahaha - James Gandolfini should give David Caruso a call. or arrange a seance to talk to McLean Stevenson.

And to get it you have to read in between the lines and should understand it from other episodes the song he played, him being with his family at the end etc etc. We never found out what happens to Sil, what Paulie was looking and acting strange about etc. So many loose ends. I think he set it up for the movie to really possibly tie up loose ends there.. More $$$ All I know is I was watching and the screen turned black... Not happy with the ending at all. Not satisfied.

They better make a movie.
