I grew up in napa valley and went to school with the Mondavi kids Dina and Robby. They used to bust out all kinds of novelty wine in their parents mansion while they were on vacation. I never really asked how much it was

$1800 Imperial of Mondavi Private Reserve Cabernet.... wasn't worth it... the $20 bottle would have been just as good. At least we had lots of people to share it with.

Way back when in the old days when I had money the first time around and was a REAL dickhead to go with it, I was drunk at a restaurant and to impress who I was with I ordered a bottle of Penfolds Grange Hermitage - it was a '78 (I think).

Awesome drop, even when toasted already, and set me back a cool $2200.

Thanks god I am not that same guy today.

the difference of X,XXX $ between a glorified wine and a cheap 15-30$ fresh french Beaujolais isn't justified by nothing.
