My domain hot-chixs.com has been stolen.
Hi guys
I'm just going to post the email I"ve had to send out to every single tgp that I submit to just for times sakes. If any one of you knows this fucker or knows why he would do this please help me out, I'm at a loss to understand this. As to my tgp partners, I'm really sorry about this and any problem it may have for you. I've moved all the galleries that were on hot-chixs.com and put them on cutecandygirls.com. Can you please contact me at webmaster |@| cutecandygirls.com and work with me at restoring my galleries in your archives. One tgp owner said he would just edit my galleries in his script and just replace the domain name and all the gallereis should work then. Or if you could just put the galleries on hold until I get my domain back that would be great. Otherwise if you guys delete them from your archives all that work would have been for nothing and I'd loose a heck of a lot of money. I think I've lost enough already. Anyways, here's what happened to me. Please excuse the generic email, I needed to email all the tgp's I submit to because this problem affects them all I'm sorry if some of you are receiving this message for the second time I just thought I would cover all bases. Hi it's M W, most of you know me as Hotchixs, My domain hot-chixs.com has been transferred away from my control and was registered to someone else. The only info I got from my registrar was that someone with the email address [email protected] registered it with godady.com. I did a Google search for [email protected] and this is what came up; dnforum.com/showpost.php?p=83710&postcount=1 (if you click on the link at the top right hand corner you can see everyone's replies. Very interesting) So it seems that godaddy knows about this guy and still lets him get away with stealing domains. Anyway, I've got a dispute in with godady to get the domain back but in the mean time I don't know what's going to happen with all the galleries that I've submitted under that domain. I suggest that you delete any and all galleries in your database for hot-chixs.com only, my other domains (internationalexotics.net) are still good and functional. Please please don't delete my other galleries on my other domains then all my business goes down the toilet and I'm out of business. I really apologize for any problems this may cause you. As well, my email address webmaster|@|hot-chixs.com is also not under my control. If you receive any submissions or emails from that email account it is not me. I'm going to be changing my new domain to cutecandygirls.com and changing my submit email to webmaster|@|cutecandygirls.com I would appreciate it if you could change your scripts to recognize this new domain and email address. Once again, sorry for any problems this may cause. I have been submitting to most of your tgps for years and I think you know how big a financial hit this will be for me. Any and all help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. I'm in the process of moving all the galleries in hot-chixs.com to cutecandygirls.com with the exactly the same address after the domain. It would be a huge help you could just change the hot-chixs.com in your databases for cutecandygirls.com and that way all my galleries in the archives would still be live. If you can't do this easily, I understand and just go and delete them or just unapproved them until I get my domain back. Like I said any help would be greatly appreciated I would even be glad to change the domains myself. Or, if I can give you a list of my galleries and you can import them into your system I would really appreciate that. I just don't want to loose the $1000's of dollars if all my galleries disappear from everyone's archives. I know this email sounds a little panicked but that's just because I am. I don't understand why someone would do this it just doesn't make any sense to me. If someone has an idea as to why someone would do this please speak up, that way I would know how to protect my other domains in the future. I would also appreciate it if you could write me back with what you have decided to do so I can change things in my Advancesubmitter data base Thank you, Michael aka Hotchixs |

Thing is, there doesn't exist a way to steal domains.
Without exceptions, stories like this are due to compromised accounts. There's many ways that could happen. The email you use was compromised (you logged on from an internet cafe and didn't log out PROPERLY. your password is "newyork". you are running a malicious keylogger. etc). You had cookies from a https session and went and visited a malicious website which read them. You use wireless and somebody sniffed your traffic. You're on badly admined cable and somebody sniffed your traffic. You fell for a phishing scam. The list is endless. In the end, there's nothing the registrar can do for you, nor is there anything they should do for you. Not because it's not unfortunate, or we're not sorry, or because this sort of thing should happen. It shouldn't happen. But it's your responsibility. |

Yeah sorry about the length I just wanted to give as much information as possible;
1. to inform my tpg partners 2. to inform the general public that these things do happen. As to my responsibility, I'm pretty good at saying I fucked up when I do but this is not one of those occasions. Someone hacked my email account password and then requested a new password from my registry and transferred the domain away. I was in the hospital when this happened so I had no idea. I think the responsibility should rest with who stole the domain if you ask me. |

You're probably right, in that the emails being compromised is most likely. How did they hack the emails tho ?
Understand, it's not out of bitchiness or calousness or anything. But if you don't understand how it happened how do you know it won't happen again ? From a societal standpoint, you have the following problem : domain name registry. You could address it two ways : either 1) as it's done now, customer's responsibility to keep passwords safe, should they fail, there is no recourse or 2) registrar's responsibility to keep passwords safe, should they fail, they are liable. You can't ask somebody to be liable for something they do not control. And if you make the registrars do too much support in cases like this, it will just raise the bill all around. Which is why I say they shouldn't do anything. Sure the thief is responsible for theft, at least in theory. But I don't know if you've ever lived in NY. Practically, you need better locks. |
