    Skateboarding could be Olympic discipline in 2012

    I can't wait until tag or hide-and-seek are olympic sports.

          Skateboarding takes some serious skill and this will also draw in the younger crowd, I say it's a great idea!

              You have to be smart to find a good hidng space. Nimble and flexible enough to hide in tight spots. And quick enough to get to base before getting tagged.

                          Skateboarding takes a hell of a lot more talent than sliding down a ski slope to see how far gravity will take you. As a side note I always thought it should be added.

                              Skateboarding requires practice and skill.. it SHOULD be an olympic sport.

                              most of the sports they have now are just caveman sports... shot-put comes instantly to mind...

                                          The problem with the skater sports is that the current judging methods are way too simple. As it stands right now all you have to do is pull the trick off, and no matter how ugly it looked credit is given. That would have to change for the Olympics. There would have to be an element of grace in doing the tricks.

                                                  Skateboarding is the new gymnastics just way more core and no tights. I have a feeling that there are more than a few hardcore skaters that would hate to see skating become an olympic sport.
