Wasn't that the best damn game, especially when it just starts to rain. I remember my mother hosing me down outside the house before I could come in.

Yep, that's pretty much it. A very unorganized game of rugby pretty much.

Point was to see who could hold onto the ball the longest without getting killed.

We used to play it with a football (american style) and start it with a toss up and whoever caught it would run and dodge until he was hammered to the ground, lol. Awesome game for it's time.

Ah yeah, many many emergency room visits after a rough day on the field...

We played Smear the Queer in the summer time, then when it snowed, we'd switch to Hillbilly Basketball, which was basketball with tackling and you'd check the guy into snowbanks and sometimes the basketball post

Yup used to play as well, even in school when sports like dodgeball and stuff were still allowed and kids actually won and lost and stuff.

damn dood you brought back memories.. down at the school yard like 20 of us everyday... one person kicks it and everyone tries to catch the football then it's on once you catch it....

on a side note.. I live right by a school now as I did when I was younger I had to buy my huose here because I wanted the kids to have the school to play at as I did growing up and I have noticed that no one goes to the schools to play anymore...

is everyone afriad? does anyone notice this?

Yeah, I remember playing that game back in jr. high after lunch in the mid-80's. I was 6 foot already in 7th grade so I usually lasted pretty long. Never had any broken bones or teeth knocked out, but I remember a lot of ripped shirts and scrapes or cuts. Damn that was fun.
