I'll second that. Even though I haven't been to a starbucks, I've tried a fw otherr places here or there for coffee and I'll go on record as saying the drip-grind stuff I make at home is as good or in some cases better than what's being sold out there for $2-$5 a cup.

I get some of those flavored creamers sometimes (dairy based, not oil) and that makes for a nice change too.

Secret to home-brewed is: keep your coffee maker ultra clean inside and out, especially the filter (if you have a permanent filter).

If you're not a coffee drinker you wouldnt go? Well yes of course :)

But alot of us posting that we've never been to a starbucks are HEAVY coffee drinkers. We just dont buy into the "lifestyle" of mega dollar coffee bucks.

I drink a pot a day, so what am I saving? Like $40 a day? I'll take it :)

Cha-ching. Bingo.

Nailed it dead nuts on.

Up here it's Tim Horton's. I admit, it's good.... but not THAT much better than my home brewed, and I don't have to drive anywhere to get my coffee.

TubeTitans_SusieQ 06-08-2007 08:20 AM

that's funny, i've never known of people that haven't been to Starbucks, is is world wide or just in the US?

WebairGerard 06-08-2007 08:29 AM

ClimaxXx 06-08-2007 08:30 AM

I haven't either, and we actually do have a handful around... I don't understand why you feel the need to pay 12$ for a mochawhippedcreamsugarouttheass ice... Hell, I don't even drink Tim Horton's... Some Canadian I am...

I've been to one with friends who wanted to buy something, but I hate coffee in general. So no, I've never gone to one to buy anything.

Ace_luffy 06-08-2007 08:32 AM

Mrs Blazing 06-08-2007 08:34 AM

CDSmith 06-08-2007 09:10 AM

Are any of you going to be trying 7-11's new "slurpaccino" anytime soon?

lol

Coffee flavored slurpee. :D

I think I'll pass.

DateDoc 06-08-2007 09:24 AM

Peet's is better and Starbuck's started by reselling Peet's coffee. Peet's has a cool domain too - www.coffee.com

TubeTitans_SusieQ 06-08-2007 09:29 AM

I know a lot of people who love Starbucks, I'm not one for coffee, All I know is that there's something Dunkin Donuts puts in there coffee that can make even a non coffee drinker addicted to it. i think ill investigate lol

BigCashCrew 06-08-2007 09:29 AM

I live in downtown Seattle. It's hard not to go to Starbucks. There is one on every corner here. I'm hooked.

frostyimpressions 06-08-2007 10:12 AM

I wish I could say that I haven't.

ServerGenius 06-08-2007 10:17 AM

They're an insult to everything that's called coffee.....I will never get coffee
from starbucks. I only get coffee at places where to properly make coffee.
real espresso is something completely different

Peaches 06-08-2007 10:18 AM

I see a lot of twink cards being revoked here!!!

I, unfortunately, love SB. They opened one in my little town. It's such a love/hate relationship :(

webgurl 06-08-2007 10:36 AM

I have one every 3 blocks or less radius from my place , but
then again i live smack middle downtown . <sigh>

carol.prime 06-08-2007 10:55 AM

I guess you have never been in one, or they are price gouging where you live. < $4 for a venti mocha in LA, and every other state I have purchased one in all across the country.

Coffee Bean is a weak substitute whose doors are only entered when there are no Starbucks around.

I would like to say that I would never go to either just for a "cup of coffee" you can get that at McDonalds. But for a latte . . . :thumbsup

After Shock Media 06-08-2007 11:33 AM

I have been in a Barnes and Nobels which always has a damn starbucks inside. I have tried their milkshakes err coffee and honestly it tastes burnt to me.

Now I do visit dutch brothers.

When I DO go into Starbucks i end up leaving with a frappacino or a loaded mocha. when I DO go into McDonald's I end up getting a Big mac and Fries. Despite the fact that McD's has a 200 calorie salad I have never bought one. i have the kind of willpower that falls apart once I pass the temptation of walking in the door.

After Shock Media 06-08-2007 11:38 AM

Speaking of McDonalds their coffee is actually pretty good.

HairToStay 06-11-2007 10:37 AM

Never been, the closest one is about 40 minutes away near Providence, RI.

But I'm at Dunkin Donuts all the time for their decaf iced coffee.
