Looking for a paysite member CMS

I know about carma, sitedepth, mas, awiz lol, and the open source cms's like
joomla, opensourcecms.

What's the status of Xtract is that still around coz I can't get ecoders.biz to
load.....I've seen Xtract before and if I remember correctly it looked quite
decent. So any info would be appreciated.

Personally, I love carma... can't say enough good things about it.

If you have the means to run it, do it...

I've worked with carma and I'm not saying it's bad but it's too bulky...I know I can
go custom and actually will go custom but to build something good instead of
something half assed takes time so I need something for the time being. I
remember X-tract and what from what I remember it could be what I need till
I've got my own ready to take over.

Carma has a few requirements or better restrictions requirements wise and
software wise which I rather not want to use if I don't have to. For example
issues running it on clusters. I'm looking at MAS as the stuff we bought uses
MAS but to transfer the license and move the software they charge so much
that I feel I'm getting humped in my bummy considering what it takes for them
to do this......I really just kept MAS for the fact that it will save me tons of
work......but the price they offered so far is so high that I'd rather do the
extra work then paying for something which I feel isn't reasonable for it takes.

The sites we bought already have a owned MAS license so it's paid once
already and to just get it moved and pay another $2000 doesn't feel like
something I could live with.

It's their right to ask it I won't dispute that but considering the situation
it's not something I'm willing to pay for moving the software which already
runs on another server so moving it (script only, content we'll move ourselefes)
should take them what 2 hours......if they take it easy and have a few cigarette breaks?

I'm also looking at sitedepth as a possible option in case X-tract isn't
available or supported anymore.....hell even the new Awiz looks like it
could do the job for the time being.....but if X-tract is still around I'd
like to check that out before making a final decision

I am a Joomla addict. Most all my websites now are Joomla based. It would be perfect for a paysite. There are all kinds of cool plug-ins for it that would be perfect for what you want to do.

I'll check that out I've looked at it before but it seemed almost the same
amount of work to shape it in what I want as building something from scratch
but I could be wrong as I haven't looked into it very seriously.

Does it use smarty.....I love using stuff that uses smarty?

Switching templates/themes with Joomla is insanely easy. I searched the Joomla extension directory for Smarty and here are two extensions that mention it:

http://extensions.joomla.org/compone...370/Itemid,35/
http://extensions.joomla.org/compone...947/Itemid,35/

We are moving to a new CMS system, should be completed next week. I will copy this thread to the person selling it.

The old one will not handle the paysites growth.
