Steps and Costs of Starting a Paysite!

First of all I wanna say Hi to the community I'm new to the forum but not totally new to the biz. I run a few general and teen free sites and mainly do gallery submitting. I've managed to save $50k to invest into building myself a TEEN PAYSITE. I'm bending towards sites like nubiles, karups and ftvgirls. Anywayz I have a shitload of question to ask.

1. Will 50k be enough for the whole project?
2. I don't need anyone to build me tours or galleries or banners ads...because I'm planning to do it myself. I've worked for a company building tours and running the sites so i kinda know what I'm doing.
3. What are visa fees?? ccbill processing setup fees?
4. I want to have at least 200-250 models with 4-5 pic sets each and 4 vid sets 5-6 mins each. Addition 50models for updates considering I do about 1 or 2 model updates every 2 days or so. I've learnt and praticed photography from a friend the pass 2 months and if worst come I'll fly over wherever the models are at and shoot them myself if that would save me alot of $$$. BTW how much is the average cost of an amateur teen model in prague or buddapest for hire to do photoshoots?.
5. I have skills in photo touch ups and video editing so all the content will be processed in house.
6. I am planning to go with ccbill. Is it a one time fee of 2k or something to get setup with them?
7. What else do i need?!?

Let's say worse come 1 year down the road my paysite bombs. Would I even get %50 of the $$$ invested back selling all my exclusive pics and vids?

If all goes well I can probably get the site launched by the end of this year or even early. Anyways any tips and oppunions are appreciated. THanks

1. I believe that will cover the initial start up costs
2. Good to know
3. I think that Visa fees @ CCBill are 750'ish.. could be mistaken it's been awhile
4. I'm not sure
5. Good to know
6. See #3 - I once again could be mistaken
7. A marketing strategy

I believe that you, upon being successful, would get your money back.

The processing fees (setup) is $750.

You need hosting. ;-)

Hey bud I have been building for a while now and just about ready for launch.

I have learned a LOT and I would be happy to answer some questions in ICQ - I know how hard it is starting out - it seems insurmountable but it's not

Feel free to hit me up.

Actually I'll add a little to my hosting comment because I think this is very important and too many people skimp out.

Get a RAID setup of some sort. There are a few different kinds, your hosting company can help you select the right solution for you. When you're sticking thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours of time into a project... do you really want to lose it all due to hard drive failure?

Paul Markham & Max Candy are the go to guys for the top notch Czech/Prague content. Contact each personally and see what kind of specials they can cut you for the amount of content you want. That's going to determine where you come in on that budget.

Visa $750. Epoch has the deal with mansion for a good affilliate backened.

If you aren't doing an affilliate situation I suggest going through Verotel. Less scrub, international currency pages etc.

Hit up Webair for your hosting, they won't fuck you if you exceed your bandwidth so that's not an issue.

You might be able to sell the content and get the money back. It's possible.

But remember, your biggest costs will probably be traffic generation in the beginning so make sure you have at least half your money available for that.

My only thought is your 50K is beyond low if you think you want to start with 200 sets. figure your minimum shooting cost on each model at $1000 (model fees and everything wrapped in). Your first month on bandwidth for traffic and if you post your own galleries will be at least 5K (I wouldn't recommend going the free posting route.. buy a spot at a good place, otherwise you will be wasting content on a low number of members).

50K should buy you 20 models, use the rest for bandwidth, advertising, advertising and advertising. Pray that it's enough.. but I wouldn't bet on it.

I have to agree. 200 Different models with a couple sets each would be more than the 50k alone.

no need to start with 200 models, thats insane and would take you 2 years just to shoot.. why not start with 25 models, more than enough. ftv, matts and others started somewhere..
your members will love the fact that you bring them new and exclusive content on a regular basis. also you can consider to mix your exclusive content with some non-exclusive of really hot models, twistys seem to have good success with that formular.

Hey thanks for all the feedbacks. Hey Luv I'm adding you onto my icq right now. SLy thanks again for the hosting solution, I totally left that out = ). Kevin i didn't know that amateur teen models cost that much wow!! I guess I'm gonna have to go at it with JP's method and shooting 20-40 exclusive models and buying a bunch of non exclusive to pile up the database. I remember surfing around a while ago and notice something like $150 eur to book a model for softcore and $200 for pink and $350 for hardcore.......I'm not %100 sure that the figures are right but it should be somewhat like that I think. Where's a good place to buy non exclusive/exclusive amateur teen pics/vids?

Assuming your site will be using all non-exclusive content, yeah that's enough to start a teen paysite.

Not sure where you got those numbers but it may be a very conservative estimate, depending on where you are from.

if you want to shoot that kind of content yourself you will need some serious gear, think about 20 k in camera's lenses, lights, sets etc. If it's non exclusive only then well.. I am sure you can get far, but I think you want exclusive since you're looking at models prices

Nubiles and Met are great sites with seriously sick retention however you are aiming to offer their quantity and quality out of the gate which will cost you BANK. Much more than 50K.

Start small - experiment with design and different traffic sources untill you have learned the ropes and have the revenue to fund semi-daily updates and an affiliate program. I agree that "filler" content will help round out the members area untill you are at that point. I would suggest 25K in set up and 25K in float to give you time to let you find your path.

Just dont blow your wad on hundreds of exclusive shoots and no way to monitize them.

Remember the secret in adult is that it's the system of monitization not the quality that often makes or breaks a budding young pornographer.

Best of luck!

You didn't mention your country, but if you are in Europe (and incorpored), the VISA fee is zero, the $750 fee is for CCBILL USA, not for CCBILL EU.

Ok I am looking into investing a fine amount into non exclusive content just to pile up the database and update partially with exclusive content every other day. I live in Canada so yes I think I'll have to pay the visa fee.

Just to point out that there is only a $750 fee for usa (and canada i think).

If your in the eu you do not have ANY ccbill joining fee.

have you considered to go for another not that over-saturated and high competitive niche?
With 50k you can make a KILLER site in micro or rare niche

While in teen its not really enough for quality site and you already have tons of super high quality competitors sites, who have been around for years and acumulated TONS of content

So all those steps sound good, but most importantly, where are you planning on getting the traffic to make sales. You can build the best product in the world, but without sales, its useless. Figure out your marketing plan, you'll need a great one because there's hundreds of teen paysites already out there.

I wanna thanks everyone for their oppunions and tips so far. I did alot of research from the day the thread was posted and I think the puzzle is starting to fall into place...I've figure out a biz plan where I can start off with 200+ non exclusive models(10+gigs content) and 50-60 exclusive models with (5pic sets and 4-5 vids set per model) and a bunch of dvd scenes plus other minor companions for half my budget!! I have a great marketing plan in mind but I'm not going to blah it out just yet until the site is launched = ). I'm just curious will 250 models be enough for the members to recurr consider that I update daily with 2 exclusive pic sets + 1 non exclusive pic set + 1 non/exclusive vid set + 1 dvd scene?
