One thing though... who the fuck makes "street fight rules"? It seems like iin all of Kimbo's fights nobody throws anything except punches.. and it's all standup? In that fight right there, Kimbo had some opportunities to knee the dudes head off his shoulders.

here is my take on it... he is great and strong and fun but.........
not loose enough and a fighter will be able read him like an open book... all his moves are telegraphed like crazy... unless he fixes that he is not going far...
in this last fight the guy was reading him but did not have enough knockout power to take him out before getting a bad ass cut... he also did not have great cardio and got pretty winded

for sure its gonna be fast and ugly I just watch three old mercer fights one where he just destroys tommy morrison, one where he took holyfield 12 brutal rounds and I still think Mercer got robbed in that fight and one where he had a bloody 12 round battle with Lewis that was a split decision and probably lewis' toughest fight ever. So I don't know how people can really believe that a backyard street fighter who trains for a few minute cluster fuck of a fight has any chance against one of the sports hardest puncher who trains for 12 round fights against heavyweight champions. someone with ground and kick skills should be able to handle kimbo, but than again we havent seen kimbo in a fight where kicking and ground fighting is allowed
His legs/knees do look fragile especially caring around that massive top body I wonder how he responds to a couple of low kicks on the same spot,

somebody with a hard accurate kick would take him down very very quickly. i sense weak legs...
i also see him go down quite alot, and he's slow going down/getting up. i suspect a fast fighter with a strong ground and pound could get him to his knees and have a hayday on that thick head...
to me he's nothing but a brute, he might be able to take a whole lot of punishment and throw alot out to someone who's not a very good opponent, but as far as talent goes, i don't really see much of it. if he makes an MMA appearance, i predict a few lucky wins out of pure strength, and a few losses to some good fighters, then a quiet recession back to knocking the fuck out of wannabes in back alleys...
i've held off a couple post saying this because i'm sure it will upset someone, but fuck it, here it goes...

im sure kimbo is getting better without a doubt, but the same can be said for mercer. im also sure that mercer punches harder and takes a better punch and can expose almost anyone elses boxing skills that he would get in there with even at his age.
i also know that in an mma debut fighters do what they know. they go out and go with all their training until they get smacked once or twice and then its back to what you know and up to your corner to try to work you back into your training.
it should be a fun fight to watch thats for sure and i cant hate on a man for finally getting in there and throwing down but i still think mercer is going to knock him out.Comment
