    Californication.. underage depiction.. legal?

So I'm watching Californication on Showtime last night and this gal is straddling Hank; ballin' his brains out.. nekkid as a jaybird..
Later he finds out she's just 16

The gal was Madeline Zima who is like 22, but she was playing the part of a 16 year old..

Now I'm wondering how this would go over if a website had a young looker and advertised her age as 16, when she was in fact of age..

    Gets me kinda confused...

A movie containing actual minors pretending to give head. They weren't allowed to actually say the word "blowjob" because of their ages, but they were allowed pretending to do it.

    Great movie, by the way.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the FCC governs depictions of obscenity in Hollywood's motion pictures and television. So they don't have to do 2257 and play by the same rules.

The FCC covers broadcast TV but not cable or DVD/in theatre movies. You can, technically, show whatever you want on cable. Comedy Central has started doing a thing where they show uncut/unedited movies and stand-up acts late at night, but most don't do it because the pressure they would get from various leaders and activist groups would far outweigh the benefit.

If you are a movie producer and you don't plan to show your movie on TV, there are very few rules.

Remember that in Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Jennifer Jason Leigh was playing what had to have been a 14 or 15-year-old. She was nude frequently in that film. And of course the same could be said for any of the teensploitation films like Porkys that proliferated in the 1980s.
