You gotta take special relativity into account (time dilation) and so their measured lifetime would be 4.9 x 10^-8

This is a way to prove special relativity practically. If the whole thing was just bullshit, then the scientists would measure their lifetime to be 2.6 x 10^-8, but they don't

Behind every good theory there needs to be practical proof

My problem is that I have yet to find a practical use for pions in my day to day life. . . . or the measurement thereof.
