If i have 8 icons i want to place next to eachother in a 700x100 area for instance is there a way to have photoshop automate the distance between the icons?

*DISCLAIMER* I'm no photoshop expert.
Not that I can think of....
But if you make each icon 87 pixels wide then they will lay right next to each other perfectly at 696 then you can put a 2 pixel border to account for 4 missing pixels.

That does not space them equally between each other.
Usually what I do is align them, and then count out the spaces between each.
For example icon a, b, c, d, e. I will move A 10 spaces to the left...then lock a and b together and now move them 10 more spaces to the left, then lock a,b, and c together and move those 10 spaces to the left, and so on until they are all evenly spaced.
If the spacing looks nice, I then lock them all together put them inside a folder and center them. About the easiest way I know how to do it.For rent - ICQ 127-027-910

alignment is the best way. Just set your two outside icons where you want them (left and right) the rest should drop equidistant when you align them.ICQ: 370 037 008Comment

you can also use rulers and guides to get it all aligned as well. there is a way to assign a point with each object, but i dont know how to do it.
that would be assuming that all objects are the same size too, which i am not familiar with.

Create guides at percentages ...
you have 8 icons ... so create guides 12.5% each way ...12.5%
12.5%
25%
etc etc
Then snap the icons to them....
