low conversion on sponsors

This has probably been asked time and time again, but I'm getting a low conversion on a sponsor. I'm fairly new to the game, but these numbers don't add up.

The sponsor is Oliver Klosov who I personally think has great looking content for babes. I made a Video TGP page and posted it on one site only. I got a very decent clickthru from the page to the sponsor. With 10k uniques on the page, I got 1355 hits to the sponsor. That's pretty good I think, but it's my first movie TGP page, so I know movies convert better, I don't know how much better.

My problem is, not a single person has signed up with the sponsor. I'm not crying cause I'm not making money or whatever, I'm kinda intrigued. Yes, TGP traffic is garbage, that I know. They're using CCBill if this helps at all. I don't know if there's any problems with ccbill's billing of credit cards, maybe they're refusing people or whatever.

This is the site, I think it looks clean, especially from a guy who taught himself photoshop on his own! hehehe
http://www.bimbolinks.com/affiliate/oliver/11.htm

Can anyone give me any tips (apart from get out of the business and go fuck yourself! hehe) on this? I personally think that as an affiliate, your job is to get traffic to the sponsor. Then it's the sponsor's job to convert it with his join pages. But so far, having a ratio of 0:1355, not impressive! hehehe

I'll keep plugging at it.

Send 5k to 10k clicks before making a judgement on the sponsors ability to convert.

Right, like I said, I will keep pushing Oliver, cause I believe in the content. And I'm not ... hmmm well to think of it, I might've sounded like I was blaming the sponsor. I don't. I was looking more to see if there's tweaks I could do on my page layout first. Before I change a sponsor, I want to make sure that I'VE done everything I can first. Take responsibility for it.

Thanks though.

You're not doing gallery posting, so it's a little different.

With a 1:500 you're not promoting them through TGPs though are you? You're using feeder sites that are positioned well on SEs or something right?

yes wait untill you have sent 5000 clicks and then see how many sales ya got
I would get rid of that Russian look you got there;)
Plus it might be an idea to use smaller movies instead of the ones from 3meg u use.
If these hotlinking bitchazz hoes find these movies you'll get killed by your bandwidth bill.

From reading this forum actually! I spend a few hours every day browsing through here, mainly cause in between the GFYs, the USUK comments, and the rest, there's some interesting information!

True. Cut the movie lengths might be good. Will do.
As for the russian look, I figure with a name liek Oliver Klosov, it was the right look to go for, and it stands out. When someone clicks thru like 20-30 galleries thru a TGP, this will pop out instead of the usual pages.

Thx for the info SR

I don't do TGPs, even less movies, but I was curious about your very high click through ratio and went to check out your page.

In my opinion, you are (not on purpose, it seems) using blind links to send surfers to the sponsors. The movie captures are too close ant too blended to the sponsor links, many surfers don't look at the status bar before clicking, and they may end up at the sponsor when they thought they were downloading another movie.

Suggestion (not to improve conversion ratios, but to get a more realistic value): change position and wording of the links to make clear to the surfer they are going to a sponsor.

Just my

And BTW, thanks for the movies.
The girls are great, the server is fast.

Which brings another questions to my mind:
- If you want to promote movies, why use Oliver? I have nothing against him, but isn't he specialized in high quality *photos*? His front page advertises "more than 150 movies", while other sites have "10,000 XXX movies and 100s of feeds"; which would you choose?
- If you have to promote Oliver, why use movies? The BW you spend to offer one movie to a surfer could be used to give 50 or so good pictures; besides, few people would download 50 pics, whereas many would those 5 movies. IMHO, in this particular case, even if you don't pay for BW, you would do better with a well designed page of pictures.

Just another (2 cents of Real, Brazilian currency, currently at 1/3 of the US dollar)

if they can't convert in 2k they blow. either your ads suck bad or the site simply sucks.

i found olilver klozov converts decent and they seem to count a lot more clicks than most sponsors. so their ratios will be higher.

Nice mpegs

I have noticed that sponsors who use CCBill tend to convert much worse for me than others - don't know why this is.

Also, you are surely fucked if you offer 5 free 2.9 MB movies for download. Your bandwidth bill has got to be astronomical...

Thanks, I'll try that on the next one I make. I was more intrigued about the CCBill because I've heard of some people having issues getting the credit cards to go through on CCBill. Anyways, thanks all of you for your inputs on this!
