    Question to Playboy..

    Just curious..
    When you guys shoot a girl for the magazine, most likely the Cover. How long before it gets published?
    Is it about 3 months or can it take a couple years?

    What is the process?

    I give you guys credit for putting out such an awesome magazine for such a long time. You would really have to be in that business to really know how much work it is.

    If anyone from Playboy can answer this, that would be awesome.

      Although there IS a process it doesn't always follow a straight line. Therefore the time can range from a few months to much longer.

          I was talking to one of the girls that got the cover recently, she said it took almost a year and half. I guess they just go with who is hot at that time maybe. Not sure! I would have thought 3 - 6 months average. That's why I was asking. Just Curious.

              it'll be publish for months only...i think it would not take a year to publish...coz their releasing one a month..

                  But this one girl took way over a year. Maybe they are just proactive to be on the safe side. I know most magazines are about 3 months before things get published.

                      I bet they shoot so many girls that could potentially be covers that they have a queue. I'm sure they get ideas for celeb covers or themes that have to be put in the pipeline quickly since they have so much lead time to worry about with the art, printing, ads and editing... so that would bump some girls that would have otherwise been covers to later months.

                      But hey, I don't work there. I'm just a customer.

                          Good, straightforward answer...

                          I don't think it is good to lock into a formula for everything. It's good to have an overall branding strategy, but even that should be somewhat fluid and flexible, to permit you to react quickly, either to current trends or events, or simply a feeling that the time is right to mix things up.

                          Playboy has about the best branding in the biz, and most people would be happy to emulate them. However, even a titan like Playboy has to adapt in order to survive, let alone thrive.

                          After a somewhat rocky start to the new millenium, it would appear that Playboy is starting to hit it's stride once again, with the right mix of products and services.

                              I guess it all depends on what Celebs come in and out at the last moment. They would have first priority.
