5 years gone was a glimpse into the future where the bomb went off, and Sylar took everyones powers. The second that peter saved Claire, that whole future we saw in that episode was changed. Now Peter can't have a scar, Ando is alive, the bomb didn't go off, and so on.

I don't think anyone's confusing anything with anything.... just grabbing bits and pieces to put some facts together.

We're all just having fun trying to piece together a puzzle. Lighten up, have some fun with it.

This thread is loaded with good stuff!

Something that I recently thought of is this:

Whatever Peter's mother's power is... Peter has to have it.

He might not realize what it is, or how to use it... but he has it, eh?

Well I have plenty of unanswered questions and I too watch the show. Things ARE NOT as clear cut as fallenmuffin believes. But I doubt they can be answered just yet though but riddle me this Batman, lol.

The eclipse we see in the opening credit sequence is now referenced at the very end of the last episode when Hiro sees Kensei. What is the significance of this eclipse? Is it a natural eclipse or is it something else eclipsing the sun? And does this eclipse mark the beginning or the very cause of the mutations resulting in special abilities?

Didn't anyone notice that the symbol on Kensei's banner is the same as Nikki's tattoo on her shoulder when she turns into Jessica? What possible connection could this mean? Are these people with abilities actually marked or branded in some way and if so does this mean their powers were created by some "Intelligent Design" rather than simple evolutionary mutation? Lastly, we all saw that Hiro's father is or at least looks like Kensei. What is the connection here? Is he the actual progenitor from which all other mutants formed? Did HE cause the eclipse? Also, how does he happen to show up where ever he is needed? It almost seems like he is aware of everything that happens at any given moment.

Out of all the powers that we have seen so far, Why is Hiro's so powerful? While some of the other characters abilities are pretty spectacular He is still the only one who has God like powers. There is NOTHING more powerful than the ability to manipulate space and time. With that being said, what powers does Hiro's father really have? One would assume he would at least have, if not even greater powers than his son. How else would Hiro gain such an ability?

This brings up an interesting dynamic to the story through symbology and this is only my ideas on it's parallel meaning, and is definitely thinking way outside the box. Think about the story of Christ... He had miraculous powers, as does Hiro. His father (God) was all powerful, Hiro's father may very well be too, as well as being the creator. Who is his enemy but Satan himself and the Petrelli Mother or even Sylar could fit that bill. He seems to be the one who feels a total obligation in trying to save humanity, just like Christ. Being the key figure he also seems to have what would be considered Disciples who have devoted themselves to help him in his quest, just like Christ did. We also know Hiro has a sibling, does she have powers? We have only seen her fleetingly but if they do bring her into the story that would make 3 very powerful people in the same family. Sorta forms a Holy trinity, the father, the son and the holy ghost. I am sure I am reading to much into it but the parallels to that old story does seem to be partially present.

Meeper 05-23-2007 05:00 PM

Yep good call. I think peter absorbs all the abilities around him, but until he actually knows about them, or is forced to use them (ex: using telekinesis to stop from being beaten, regenerating after falling off the roof with Sylar) he can't use them. Right now technically he should have super hearing, the freezing power, and so on, but he doesn't know about them yet.

Another question I had is what was Simone's fathers power. I'm pretty sure it was being able to visit the past/future through dreams, which is how he was able to know that peter was there at that moment in time. He knew peters power, and in turn knew that peter would come back to that exact moment in time using HIS power to find out the truth. Sorry if thats confusing. hehe.

We all know that there is a huge significance in terms of the eclipse being shown in both the first and now second season of heroes, as to what that is I don't quite know. But once the eclipse took place, as you recall, is when all the current heroes from the first season started to discover their powers.

As for the symbol. Yes not only is it shown on Kensei's sword, banner, and nikki's (jessicas) tattoo, but is also ALL over every episode if you look closely. For instance, on the Hatians necklace, he wears the symbol, the branch inside of the lizards (mohinders) cage, claire's geometry book, and the wall of the greyhound stop. The code of mohinders fathers work shows the same symbol as well. It's supposed to stand for "Godsend" or "Great Gift" which seems to make a bit of sense. Its also very similar to a strand of RNA, but its flipped around.

We haven't yet discovered what Hiro's fathers power is as of yet, but a lot of people are thinking that he is either Kensai himself, or is able to live forever, which is why he said "I have waited a long time for a Nacamura to assend" to hero. Not quite sure if his sister has powers either, seeing how we only saw her in one episode briefly. I kind of think that Hiro is going to be Kensai but we will have to see! :D

I guess you can tie it too whatever kind of story you feel it best relates to. I don't really think of it as Hiro's father being the creator of all, but we don't know his powers yet. I do believe that him, linderman, and mrs petrelli all allied together when they were younger, and that both linderman and mrs petrelli turned to the "dark side" if you will.

One thing I like to do is look at all the different point of views because it keeps us all guessing, which is why I love this show so much. Reading all the different theories gets me excited for the possibilities of what can happen next. We just have to wait and see i guess :D Sorry im not a COMPLETE expert on the show but thats pretty much the best I can answer those questions. Hope that was helpful.

Can't be her. Molly said "when I think about him, HE can see me". Of course, unless the character is already written, they can always give it a sex change.

nice :)

I'd personally be pretty annoyed if Sylar "survived".. all this BS and Hiro can't lop his head off or even hit is heart properly? And what was everyone else with special powers doing while he was crawling away.. having a nice cup of cocoa while they slowly watch him crawl? Nah.. he really should be dead. And besides, don't they watch movies? You never leave a super evil, super powered guy alone after an intitial knockout blow until he's been macerated into finely sliced sushi rolls. I can't bring myself to feel sorry for what happens to anyone after failing to take care of the most basic of rules..

The other thing is that it's total BS that Peter could survive going nuclear. A small fragment of anything in the base of his skull kills him.. or at least renders him in suspended animation.. but the full atomisation of everyone of his particles????? I'm sure they'll come up with some unrealistic way you can be at the centre of a nuclear explosion and not be turned into a charred mist of atoms. I mean.. Nathan can fly.. so it's not as if the laws of physics have to be obeyed in this universe. Also Nathan should get radiation poisoning within hours.. or at least cancer within a few months. Parkman and Noah should already have fallen ill from Noah's house.

Besides this type of anal quibble that you have to let go of for events to be able to unfold smoothly it was a good finale.. Can't wait for Season 2.

bloggingseo 05-24-2007 08:24 AM

The finale' was great, not sure why they got rid of Nathan or Peter. They'll probably come up with some big elaborate reason why Peter and Nathan didn't really die, or maybe just Peter died and not Nathan. I agree that he could have just thrown Peter and flew off. I also agree with the comment that I don't think peter could use 2 powers at once, so he couldn't use the fire and fly away into space at the same time.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but its already been released that Sylar will be coming back next season from what I understand. I think they were actually supposed to kill him off earlier in the season, but theres a LOT of fans out there who liked him.

As for thinking about all the details of things, technically sylar should have been killed multiple times. Like when Mohinder knocked him out after he "killed" Peter. Instead of running away he could have EASILY killed him at that point, but lets face it, thats WAY to easy :1orglaugh

ACTUAL SEASON 2 SPOILERS.
=====================

Nothing too off the beaten path here (I think both of these have been touched on here already), but a couple of simple facts about season two - gathered from the Hollywood information network (heard this from a friend who's wife heard it from a person _central_ to the production of the show)

Don't read if ya don't wanna know! :-)

-Peter and Nathan are still alive.
-Sylar is still alive, and his success has something to do with the cockroach.

Well your answer is in the quote you used of EvilAngelNick. RNA is only a part of a complete DNA strand. If you look at the RNA it looks like a strand of DNA split down the middle. So it looks more like RNA than DNA.

My question is this: Why did Sylar kill the girl with the power to persuade people to do anything and NOT take her power?
