Want to fix the system? Ok...
1. All prisoners that are serving in excess of 40 year terms start doing hard labor to benefit the state on a daily basis with no pay. No pay? Yup, we house them, feed them and provide them with medical care, just like we do for the military, who fights FOR us, not against us. They earned the sentence, they can pay the price. What work? Sorting trash for recycling or burning from landfills is a good start. All of the work in national forests, roadways, re-planting fields, clean up from natural disasters, etc. Chain gangs worked once, they can work again. Take the money made and saved from this one program and fund all the school systems in the US. Raise their budgets, re-vitalize the schools and raise the pay for teachers.
2. All children who are convicted of crimes while in school are immediately transferred to schools specifically for criminals like them which focus on basic reading, writing and math skills until they're in high school, where the schools focus on job skills for blue-collar jobs. If they want out of that school system, they can prove it by working harder, staying out of trouble and then only on a parole system can they return to regular schools after their individual case is reviewed by a panel. That makes all public schools places of learning, not the gladiator academies they currently are. Think this won't make a difference? Look up the statistics on the numbers of students in public schools with criminal records.
The shit pay for teachers, shit funding for schools and attitude of the students is the problem in schools, nothing else.
Fucking spineless, whiny liberals would never do something this drastic, they don't want to lose their welfare, criminal voting base. But this is good start to solving real problems, not another fucking bandaid by throwing money at the problem to up your polls in an election year.
