perhaps.. of course when someone doesn't have the same opinion on shows as you they must have a low IQ nice logi there fella.

and as far as being a "typical sitcom" I meant TYPICAL, look at the majority of the sitcoms listed in this thread, those are typical. I also know that the majority of people who watch mash like mash, that's why I specifically referred to mash. I have seen "Friends" and I understand the jokes, but I don't laugh. Do I need to get some IQ injections for that?

While you're getting them done, you should get them to inject some manners..

I am old enough and have a stupidly good memory for pop culture of my youth to know that Blossom had two starts...it started on Fox (when Fox was new) and they dropped it and the NBC picked it up and it went on for ages. I didn't mind it as a kid but in retrospect it is a bit dumb.

I am choosing to believe he means that it was a different level of quality to most sitcoms, particularly of the era, where it is people sitting on a sofa with crap jokes and no character development.

I never have got those 2 shows.

Personally, I'd rather have a root canal done than watch those 2 shows.

Shoot Archie Bunker was the shit..That show was way ahead of its time, when i see episodes these days I can't believe some of the shit that they said

And it has to be a near record for the number of other good shows...such as the Jeffersons that is spawned.

Putting my vote in for Green Acres with Zaza Gabor

Sarah_Jayne 05-23-2007 01:21 PM

Yup...I liked that..Bea Arthur is a funny lady when she tries.

bad ginger 05-23-2007 11:40 PM

Bea Arthur is way funny. check out the star wars holiday christmas special. one of a kind tv poo. Bea Arthur plays the cantina (bar) tender. she sings and then throws everyone out of the bar.( the patrons of the star wars cantina scene.) classic bad tv. thanks g. lucas.

truebluetalent 05-23-2007 11:46 PM

I'd have to say Silver Spoons... rich little fucker.

I liked Silver Spoons ..who didn't want the remote control doors and arcade video game machines? Another spinoff too.

BigCashCrew 05-24-2007 01:35 AM

Different Strokes was pretty bad. a lot of over acting going on there.

D 05-24-2007 01:35 AM

I watched like 20 episodes, because everyone seemed to love it... but I always walked away from episodes of Seinfeld feeling that it had insulted my intelligence.

So I'd have to say Seinfeld. Maybe it wasn't as bad as some others, but it's popularity compounds it's "worse" ranking, imho.

Most likely and it is the show of doom for the kid actors. However, that said, I liked it a lot as a kid.

I remember being jealous of the train that ran through the living room.

Yeah agree 100% with you on that both those shows are utter crap !

bah - people are just posting shows they thought sucked, or shows other people loved and they didn't see why everybody liked them but most of the shows mentioned aren't anywhere near the worst - think of all the shows that got cancelled after a few episodes they were so bad.

RawAlex is right though, Canada does produce the absolutely worst sitcoms ever produced in the history of the medium. Even Finland I am sure could do better.

rapmaster 05-25-2007 04:44 AM

How can people not laugh at seinfeld... I mean, if you hate Seinfeld the man, ok... if you don't like Jews, ok... but Seinfeld the show is fucking hilarious

I don't think theres an episode that hasn't given me a solid laugh.

Yeah but shows like that we didn't see enough to have real opinions on.

sirkakashi08 05-25-2007 05:00 AM

THere's so many here in the Philippines!

dpRoberts 05-25-2007 06:23 AM

Does "The Beach Combers" count as a sitcom?

dpRoberts 05-25-2007 06:24 AM

Has to be "Full House" anyway.

OldJeff 05-25-2007 06:40 AM

I vote for 90% of all sitcoms suck, 95% after the first season, and 99% after 3 years

A MASH comes along once in a lifetime

Shows like MASH or even Cheers were shows that were allowed to grow past the first season. Cheers tanked the first season but it was given a chance to develop.
