    Zango sues for $35m compensation

...for having it's 'legal spyware' removed by Spyware Doctor

    http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/05...sues_pc_tools/

The filing claims that Spyware Doctor illegally removes Zango software from users' PCs without their expressed permission
Seems they don't like when the polarised boot is on the other foot
Lydia Parnes, director of the FTC's Bureau of Consumer Protection: "Consumers' computers belong to them, and they shouldn't have to accept any content they don't want. If consumers choose to receive pop-up ads, so be it. But it violates federal law to secretly install software that forces consumers to get pop-ups that disrupt their computer use."

I still don't understand why someone doesn't step up and use the same method zango uses but have it remove zangos spyware....Push it harder then they push there shitware, and it will fix the problem.

thats why they are getting sued, they did do that..

wont fly though because spyware removal tos is usually pretty straightforward about what your doing wheras zango .. isnt.

We bounce our surfers with Zango alerting them that we deem them to be a security risk and welcome them back after they have uninstalled it.

What smokey said - that is exactly what has happened... A spyware removal tool listed Zango as 'Elevated risk' and removes Zango. Zango is not happy.
