          Not sure what you are referring to, but news copter pilots are frequently ex-military, so they should be good fliers.

                  Been watching it all day on local news. The remnants of Eric came through OK last night and just POURED. We had 60MPH winds and 4-5" of rain per hour for 4-5 hours. Definitely wasn't expected. It actually reformed a bit and gained an eye as it passed over most of the state before breaking apart again.

                              The chopper pilot that filmed that rescue is a pretty good pilot himself. He made national news this winter for rescuing a deer that was stick in ice on a lake by using the rotor wash to push it to shore. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOWSsMIWszI

                              The chopper he flies is equipped with an HDTV camera and during tornado season we get some really good footage. Last year he caught the first ever tornado recorded from the air in HD. Watch it tear apart an airport.

                                  baddog - It was only classified as a tropical low, but as it passed over OK it strengthened and we had conditions similar to a Tropical Storm. 50-60MPH winds and 4-5" per hour. I lived in Florida for a few years and went through plenty of hurricanes and tropical storms and this sounded pretty bad.
