this thread proves once again that there are too many affiliate programs and everyone starts a new one hoping it's the only way to big bucks

actually sonofsam you were/are smart, so im not sure why you didnt see that

oh and you could have easily entered the "bro club" by becoming a sales rep or so, that would probably bring you money.... which would be better than losing money on a program which was a failure

And this thread proves that you still lack any sense of professionalism.

Look at how childish your posts have come across. And yes, Batts was an ass first, but you had the opportunity to be the bigger man.

Your first post in this thread was great and people would have thought "wow, he's grown up" but then you kept posting.

actually many people in this industry lack professionalism

but they have more drive or better business sense and they succeed nevertheless

polish_aristocrat 05-17-2007 08:43 AM

then again, there's nothing wrong with your failure, you're 21, right?

you don't really need to concentrate on biz, even though most people here will tell you that's the most important thing in life

you made some wrong choices and apart from surprising your affiliates with your domains redirecting suddenly to Lightspeed, you didn't do much wrong

if anything, you disappointed a few people here who thought you're smart enough to not make such mistakes

BTE there can't have been too many of these affiliates anyway, if there were many of them, you wouldn't need a $5k loan :-)))))

yup

putting up a couple DVD rip sites and a page with pictures of fancy cars on them doesn't guarantee any success at all...not that SoS did that, I'm just speaking in general terms...

Yeah i'm 21.... I am taking the summer off... and then i'll start something else.... something OFFLINE :)

i don't like the fact that everything is over the net... i much rather do face to face business

Big_Red 05-17-2007 02:02 PM

Yes there is... but only if you go about it in the right way...

I was stupid and eager to start my own program...

what's the point? if i have a program i have to pay for all the content and absolutely everything else and split it 50% with an affiliate...

why not just use a QUALITY site like karup... that i KNOW will rebill... and send traffic to them and bank on the rebills?

that would have been the smarter way.. to just send traffic to other programs... and then when i got a grasp of everything, and a LOT of experience and a LOT of my OWN traffic... then to open a program....

not the way i did it... clearly :1orglaugh

You should stick around and at least entertain us with your cartoons. Those were hilarious.

BigCashCrew 05-17-2007 02:48 PM

Bro, I didn't know you but after reading that post I'd forgive you. You are only 21. You have a lot of time time learn. If you don't fail you will never figure anything out.

I gotta admit, your pics were funny as hell. I remember one about how spam works. I still crack up when I think of that cartoon.

xclusive 05-17-2007 02:52 PM

Where is the picture of the bike you bought?

baddog 05-17-2007 02:54 PM

I was going to ignore this thread, but figured I should clear up a little of the slant.

It was 5000 + 15%, 5750. SOS had paid back 4000. The guy that loaned him the money was still waiting on 1750. During the time that he still owed money he asked for another loan for a motorcycle (approx $10k). The guy I got the domains from said no.

He then got the money from someone else and got the bike anyways. SOS then missed the deadline for repayment because he couldnt afford to pay the guy back. That is when I got involved. It should be mentioned that the "paper holder" did not sell the domains to me right away, but rather a couple months later after he tired of the "checks in the mail" it will be there "next week" and other excuses that we all saw posted leading up to this debacle.

Nice twist to the story though.

I think the moral of the story is, just because you are 19 does not mean that you already know it all, and when people with more experience offer you advice, you should probably stop and listen.

Also, if you play with fire, you could get burned, as shown by the fact that someone who could care less about the real value of the domains might be willing to purchase them at an inflated price just to get rid of you.

If you had paid him back I would not own the domains now.

Nice try though.

That's already been established. But since you're getting senile in your old age, i wont ridicule you for just catching on... oh wait...

Mutt 05-17-2007 03:06 PM

welcome back sos - whether it's a one time thing or you're back for awhile.

did you save the cartoons anywhere?

I don't remember any of what they are talking about, but I agree with what you said there. I thought "here was a guy looking for redemption, will be interesting to see how everyone replies." And then he posts a "sig spot" right after, and I knew where this was going... and then came the drawings. It's amazing how people behave on this board.

rapmaster 05-17-2007 03:45 PM

How about a few lessons to avoid what happened to you? That would be nice actually.

Batts that is just plain mean. You should not wish that on anyone.

Mainly: Don't start your own program. There is no need to when there are tons of QUALITY programs already out there. That way you have none of the startup costs and you get all the benefits of having a great program... especially with crazy PPS deals etc.

The only time you should consider starting your own program is if you already have a massive amount of your OWN traffic to play with.

BucksMania 05-17-2007 03:51 PM

and heres the funny part... u know why hes so mad?

no.. he wasnt an affiliate or ever had any business dealings with me... hes this mad because i used to give him a hard time on GFY a year or so ago... when he thought he was so cool for posing with models and making 30 threads on gfy about it...

cry some more batts :1orglaugh

Just ignore him SoS - easiest thing to do :2 cents:

Never spoke to you or pushed any traffic to you SoS but I use to get a kick out of your artwork - stick around and keep on with the cartoons :thumbsup

So what are you doing now? You gave up on adult?

We joined at the same time though. You spend like too much time on GFY and not much on your program. Thats the problem...

SOS:

Well... Baddog sort of summed up a couple of my feelings... Some of us weren't "against" you, but we were very blunt with our advice etc. But you thought you knew it all and weren't willing to swallow your pride and just do what was smart for biz. Whatever.. it's done and over...

Nice to see that you learned the lesson about traffic first... many of the people in this biz should learn that one.

beemk 05-17-2007 08:39 PM

good to have you back.

if you never fail, it means you arent taking enough chances.

whats good is to see someone admit they failed so they can learn from their mistakes, which automatically puts you a step ahead of the gfy resident know it all.

Pleasurepays 05-17-2007 08:41 PM

this guy was always very cool and funny... particularly for his age. he owned up to his issues and accepted responsbilitly. can't believe how so many would act like he is passing around AIDS or something... particularly with all the liars and scammers in this biz that are actually stealing significant amounts of money and acting in a way that hurts everyone.

WOW! I just read the thread. I've said it before and I'll say it again. You are smart, driven, (and funny as hell) I think you'll do well no matter what you do. Just learn from your mistakes and try not to duplicate them. I wish you luck with what ever you decide to do.

Welcome back and try to pop in more often.
