I told a buddy of mine that I would spring for the tickets for the Mechnical Animals tour (many moons ago) if he sprung for the beer there. He was more than happy to take that deal.
We were standing in line for tickets. The concert wasn't sold out, but it was close. I noticed this guy trying to get my attention. I gave him the 'What?' look and he displayed some tickets for me to see. I was thinking, what the hell does this guy think he's doing, trying to sell tickets to someone standing in line for tickets at a concert that was not even sold out.
This guy handed me the tickets and they were for the 2nd row! After a skeptical glance at the tickets I asked the guy why the price on the tickets read $0.00. He explained that they were comps and he was taking his son and his son's friend and had these two tickets left over. I offered him $20/ea and he bit.
Sure enough the tickets were real and the concert rocked! My friend was running back and forth to the consession stand all night long. At $5 per dixie cup, he was coming back with those cardboard drink holders ($20/run). After the concert, he looked at me and said, 'Next time, you're buying the beer!'.
