Consolidating Servers -- Hosting Deals?

Finally, I've brought almost all of my dedicated servers together into a few "larger" boxes, which is going to save a ton of money in the long run.

I've still got ONE box that's troubling me .. it's on a 10Mbps commit, but the domains on it are mostly parked, and it's using less than 0.10Mbps. Seems silly to pay for the 10Mbps commit every month .. the box has been paid for LONG ago, and it's just gravy right now for the host, I'm assuming.

Any hosting deals out there this month? I'd like to consolidate or move this last "money pit," then I'm done for a while (whew).

This box, incidentally, will primarily be used for development of our product lines, including Autoblogger Pro, Bliggo, Feed Pushers, Sponsor Spin, and others. To some hosts, apparently, this is a feather in their caps, so I figured I'd throw it out there.

Sorry, I dropped the ball a bit on this one. I got wrapped up in another project, and didn't end up getting that box migrated last month. The good news is I spoke with the host today, and he agreed that A) the box is already more than paid for, and B) it's wasteful to keep paying what I'm paying per month, and not use any bandwidth. Unfortunately, his company isn't set up to offer the smaller plan I need, especially since I only have that one box with him, and have most of my business elsewhere.

I'm leaning towards Webair at this point, if no one else has a decent special running. Theirs for this month looks nice, and I've promised them already that I'd give them another crack at my business in the future.

Unfortunately, the Webair deal seems to crush yours.

Most "cheap" hosts are like that, unfortunately. Thanks anyway for the suggestion.

Webair's looks like it packs more punch for the same price.

OC3 -- aren't they the guys who half-paid for a hosting company, then dicked around with the last couple of thousand bucks? Or am I thinking of someone else?

Who where you with before? And how are we crushed by any reputable host?

DWHS has a dedicated HT P4 cpu environment with cpanel with daily external back ups for $99. DWHS also has server wide password sharing and brute force protection and fully managed security.

DWHS might get beat, this business is up an down but saying they are crushed with no explanation doesn't make sense.

We will meet or beat any deals out there this month. Have you checked out our "Penny Per Megabit" promo? You get 3 months free bandwidth.

Please hit me up to discuss.

I think edgeprod was just stating the deal/offer he received from WebAir crushed the deal/offer that you offered. I don't think he is stating your "business" was crushed. Sounds like a misunderstanding

By crushed I think he meant the 3mbps of bw from webair vs 1000gb from dwhs... while webair offers a 120gb drive, dwhs offers double the ram of webair...

eh, who knows.

Webair is the only choice here.

Plus, when you are ready you can push a lot of those domains over to one of their hot new SEO specials. I'm suprised you guys don't have a few of those already to be honest.

no its not, not unless you push that 3Mbps 24x7x30. 3Mbps on normal traffic trends is more around 750-800.

Exactly .. and the 1000 gb/month will let you have peaks up to 10Mbps, while the 3Mbps .. is 3Mbps peak...

Edge you can have it either way with us...per gig or per mbps your choice. There are no limits on the bw here its burstable to 100 mbps unless you would like to set up gig connectivity...

I figured. This particular box does about 3 characters per day on average, so I don't think it'll be a problem.

I'm going to look at another boat today (the weather is SO warm now), then we'll get it set up.
