I don't agree with cheaper or orginal girls... I think the girls here demand more money then if I were to find a girl from the midwest and they are not that orginal since most the girls shot here are in a 1000 things compared to finding someone new.

Most porn is shot in LA mainly because of the laws, a lot of girls go to LA simply because that is where the majority of the companies are and a girl from some little town somewhere can go to LA and pick up some serious cash in a short amount of time. I shot a lot of "first timers" when I lived in AZ. A lot of these girls are now working constantly in LA.
Finding new girls is a bitch, and working with newbies isn't always as fun as you would think.
But the advantage is the fresh faces I think. You can find "gems" sometimes. If you find one in LA she will be overshot within a month.

The girls in LA show up and even better than that, they show up on time. The convenience of calling up LA Direct or any number of the other agencies makes it worthwhile for us to call up, tell them who and what I am shooting, then fly down to LA and begin production. In Seattle, Portland, and other places I have shot in my neck of the woods, you have to double or triple book to make sure we have enough models for the scenes we need to shoot. I FUCKING HATE BEING A PUSSY WRANGLER. I gladly pay the LA agencies to do that for me. Kevin at LA Direct is THE MAN. A public thank you to him.
There are plenty of newbie talent coming through LA and if you catch them early enough you can get scenes where the talent hasn't been saturated by the other producers.

Great replies. Didn't know about the Law differences. I guess that could be a main concern. I have had pretty good luck finding new girls outside of LA at great prices and think that is a very good advantage but there is def a lot of hot and professional talent in LA from my understanding. The law is probably the most important point brought up but I doubt it will become an issue unless your doing something way out of the abnormal or starting a huge operation.Comment
