Damn thats funny. So you say the women dress that way out of freedom to be equal? :1orglaugh Turkey (99,7% muslims)?? LOL...LOL...LOL...LOL... Turkey is a NON AREB, NON MUSLIM country. Its in a danger of becoming muslim (muslims are growing there fast) AND trust you me... They will have no women presidents if they turn muslim. Get your head out of the sand. Atleast admit that the muslim countries are too neanderthal even compared to their own book. There is no muslim-arab democracy. No muslim-arab country where women can be elected. Wake up. |

Glad you have that cleared up. Basically, all you are doing is giving a very clear view of what the stereotypes are you have about muslims. You are not presenting facts, just opinions. You don't know any muslims, and base all your opinions on the media, neglecting the fact that those only show newsworthy items (when was the last time you saw a news item about perfectly normal people leading a perfectly normal life?). Apparently, you have less insight than the average brick. |
Yeahhh Muslims are fucked up....

A non muslim country? Over 99% of the people there are muslims. I wonder what it would take for you to consider something a muslim country... |

but Turkey is secular society. |
12clicks' threads are always a hit. :1orglaugh
here are some quotes from the "peaceful book". Sura 5:51 "do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people." Sura 48:16 "You will be called to fight a mighty nation; fight them until they embrace Islam." |
Only reason why Turkey is relativly normal is because of a man called Kamal Ata Turk, he made it a secular state by banning a bunch of religious stuff...

Boys, boys,
I went through a religious phase about ten years ago....it has passed. There is plenty violence that God commands in the Old Testament. 1. There was that little shindig in Jericho, that didn't go to well for the believers of Baal. 2. There was the flare up with Amarites, they kinda got thier ass slaughtered by Christians. 3. Then there was Hittites, they didn't exactly fare to well either. All these massacres were commanded by the "Christian" God. The one that said "thou shalt not kill"...unless I tell I tell you to. God him self kinda got mad at Sodom and Gammorah...in each of these instances God commanded the respective Christian leaders to kill everyone, women and children included. Then there was old Saul, who slaughtered pretty much indescriminately, on the word of God. David and God did his ass in tho. The real problem is those damn crusaders didn't get the job done, if they had, we wouldn't be in all this shit. Of course, you could say the same thing about George, Sr. He had Hussein in his lap and let him off the hook. Now someone has to go finish the job. Missed opportunities. Seems to me most religions are like propaganda machines, its our way or the highway...or else you burn in hell...a very compelling metaphor. Believe what you will, but if you look at history, an awful lot of people have lost their lives in the name of God, whichever respective one is in vogue at the time. In the beginning God created man, and man, being a true gentleman did likewise. It's too bad people are so frightened of dying that they have built up elaborate belief systems to ease the fear and pain of it....it just too hard to conceptualize the POOF...you are gone, baby. |

Whats happening in Afghanistan is just horrible propaganda. The same propaganda exists in America where 70% of the peopel dont know the story behind the muslims vs the jews, yet they will have the nerve to say that muslims should all die, muslims are all idiot terrorists, and then praise their country for being so great because firefighters stopped the blaze and did their job to get people out that they could. American propaganda is to tell the people how great america is, because patriotism is a huge part for the recipe of success if a nation is to go to war. As is hatred for your enemy (without really knowing why). Its just that afghani propaganda is much harsher - the taliban have brainawshed a huge community of people that are exremely religious to make them believe that they must fight jihad. Does that mean all muslims are like this? I bet 40% of the muslims in afghanistan are against the taliban, but simply cant do anything about it. And what about muslims in other countrys? I have soo many muslim friends here in canada, and they all dispise what the taliban are doing, because they are ruining the reputation for muslims all over the world. Although some have mixed feelings on the palestine/jew war, they are all strongly against the acts the peopel of afghanistan are committing. You racist POS - fuck you |
Kinda get a kick out of all this religious stuff, mostly all out of context- Like Osama
God example- The town is getting ready to stone old Mary, cause she is a prostitute and that is what the Old Testament prescribes for be an adulterer or prostitute...now comes old Jesus into the fray and agrees that prostitutes should be stoned....he then stops them dead in thier tracks with "let ye who is without sin cast the first stone"...so much for self righteous zealots. God or not, he was a pretty smart guy and preached a peaceful message. Only got mad once, when the money changers where operating out the Temple, not that pissed him off and he got a little....well....aggressive with them. But he didn't kill anyone. But he did make a mess of the place...of course we have perverted the message of Jesus to justify slavery, abortion (which was very common during Jesus's time, strange he didn't have anything to say about it, lilke we do now) and create a general malaise for everyone alive. God or not, his message was the only one that ever made sense to me...he was non violent. A early day David Thoreau. |

Now, I keep spewing out facts for you guys and you just want to argue about who is right-
I am awfully surprised that no one has brought the Ishmael and Abraham thingy...which is generally attributed to the formation of the Arab Muslin state.... Old Abraham has a little daliance with his Arab housekeeper and they have a son named Ishamel, of course he is not a Hebrew, so he gets his ass booted out of the house as a young man....what does the bible say? He will become a great man...but will always"have is ass towards the wordl"...hmmmmmm...In parts of the Apochapha Ishmael predicts the coming of old Mohammed...and there you have it...as against the world. Mohammed comes along, just as Ishamel said, and you have Islam...with it's ass against the world....truly. What sayest thou now? |

Obviously not all muslims, and not anyone, is bad. Here in the US, freedom of speech and expression is a big thing, and while I am against everything they stand for, even groups like the KKK have the constitutional right to say what they think.
As to the jihad (holy war) of these militant muslims, I think there needs to be some serious re-evaluation of what is important. How many of you remember the 6 Days War? Short version.. In 1967 several arab nations were lining up massive military might along 3 Israeli borders and publically declaring on radio that they would cut Israel in half and commit genocide on its people. To protect themselves, Israel levied a pre-emptive strike and slaughtered the arab attackers, and gained the lands (West Bank, Gaza, etc) that have been under contention since. Is either side "right"? Of course not.. killing your brother man is never right, but the blame falls on both parties, perhaps not quite equally. It is a shame that arab militants cannot come forward with their names and faces, nay, they hide behind jihad and their god Allah and put suicide bombers in public places like pizza shops, bus stations, school busses and busy intersections. I suppose you can see which side of the issue I am on when it comes to these things.. I side with Israel in defending their land, land which was a desert 50 years ago and has been built into one of the most prosperous sections of the world. However, I am not saying nuke the ragheads, either. I know that there are many hard working muslims out there who, especially now, are having an even harder time making their lives into something. This isn't fair to them, their islamic brothers are giving them a black eye. So what's the solution? Who knows.. I think Ariel Sharon is doing a decent job in the middle east, finally the western world is waking up to the fact that Arafat has no power and no control over terrorist groups. I didn't even know that such things were happening in the far east, in the Phillipines. They retaliated against militant arab "lairs" but I wonder how effective that is, and if the far east is going to become the second theater for the killing of children, women and even men citizens who are trying to make a living and build a family, killing them in the name of Allah. |
Jebus, Allah, Budah - I love you all !

when the fundamentalists, be they christians or others, commit a crime in the US, they are put in jail. When it happends in a muslim state, they call it their religious right. |
Where you have religious fanatics, you have ignorance first and foremost (Jerry Fallwell - fat fucking idiot) and very often you have war and death. Weren't the crusades some sort of barbaric mission from God. It seems that many religious factions believe they are on a mission from their God to destroy all other religious factions, which is somewhat shortsighted. I don't think all the higher powers, if they do in fact exist, are trying to kill each other. Although the Christians do sometime say that he is a vengeful God, I wonder if Vishnu is vengeful?
|
What do you know? When you're fighting, be it terrorist, or a soldier, you're just taking orders from the Great Leader. Soldier (or terrorist) doesn't question the motives of his Great Leader. US Marine is just as ready to kill a man as is his "colleague" who fights for Al-Qaeda - given the command he gets from above.
If people learned to think themselves instead of just taking orders, this world would be a more peaceful place. |
