Thats where you are wrong, it works very well in the adult, I see it every day here, plenty of people want to show off, thats why they upload pics of themself to dating sites or similar stuff. User generated content DEFINATELY works. We are still at the very early stages of our site and we already get well over 50 video clips a DAY submitted to us by our amateurs. Thats more new content than any big site out there could dream of.
Of course, you need to know where to find the people that are willing to upload stuff, but hey, we actually pay them for it (in contrast to all the other sites out there that run with prizes and such) every 2 weeks...
User generated content works, it works great but its simply a new niche and probably not an innovation... but we are trying to put more and more Web 2.0 things into our site and the users are loving it...
Viral marketing is another thing in web 2.0 which is great, but here I really doubt it will ever work in adult because our surfers do not really want everyone to know they are into porn. |
