What are you thoughts on using flash encoded videos for site tours. I came across hugemoviepass and noticed they were using flash for the video samples. Do you think this will be the standard way of showing teaser clips sometime in the near future on site tours. Any major Pros or Cons .....Topic open for discussion

We use both flv and wmv. The flash for the instant gratification and the wmv for the large framesize and bitrate videos (1280x720 at 4Mbps and our 720x408 medium size.These sizes might have issues streaming at those bitrates). A lot of people are using shit flv encoders and making poor quality Flvs. If you are making Flvs, use a real encoder and don't use ffmpeg. Also, until downloading flv's and standalone flv players become more popular, I wouldn't make the transition to an all flv tour.

I assumed right now flash would be the tipping scale with the heavy web usage of Youtube pushing flash as there playback medium and it playing right within the browsers.
I just havent seen a huge push of flash with adult online video sites.
In anycase and Does anyone know any good inhouse companies who do the encoding or any software flash encoders & flash settings for good looking quality flash video . We aquire in HDV footage 16x9 aspect ratio.Comment

- loading experiecing..
- lots of animations on it
- in movies.. smooth playing and fast buffering.....

We just redid the video page on our tour. We've used flash for about 9 months now but just bumped it up from one vid on the page to 4.

Flash is good for now, but Silverlight's VC-1 video codec just simply dominates anything flash offers so keep an eye on that in the near future.
