i go with banner adds..im definitely more of a visual person.

i look at it like this:

text adds: a chick says that she is naked
banner adds: a chick says that she is naked, and you can see the chick naked

for me..i think it depends on the site...

but in general...i think pictures convert better..unless there are too many on the site
