What are my options. Will sell DVD Rights, would take a %, upfront, whatever. Or just publication and distribution. What options do I have ?

Unless you find someone reputable AND will pay you (actual payment is a huge issue) chances are high you'll get ripped off. Very few wholesalers will sell enough pieces to cover your costs, and most will backdoor you and sell your product to a multitude other places (international, content brokers, VOD, paysites, etc). In the end, you might very well be competing against your own product, having only made a few $ off of it.

I'd say be cautious, but you won't know you're being screwed over until it's too late. Just some friendly advice, take it as you will.

most dvd companies are scam artists and make a killing ripping off new content producers, i know a TON of people that never got paid my dvd companies. read up on avn and see how many of those companies have lawsuits and big shakeups internally. kind of scary market to enter. just do your research.

I have heard the exact same thing.
I'm interested in DVDing... my content too but absolutely not interested in getting screwed. Of course I would pass any deals through my lawyer and accountant before locking myself into anything but is that and doing research enough? Any other advise? Reputable companies to go through? Anyone have a good or great experience that they'd like to share?

We had a very bad experience with Dane Productions and now they hold 4 of our titles which they are flooding the market at $1 /piece and they are doing this as they do not intend to pay us the royalties on them. At the appropriate time we intend to launch suit against them but this all costs money.
So what we did do is create our own Distribution and production company Velvetgate dot com addressing those concerns of the industry.

Unless you have something very good forget about the DVD market, it's shrinking by the day and the future is here. They are flooded with content.

It's not going to work unless you have something like Party Hardcore or very cute girls and images that will make killer box covers.
