For an MBA...E-Business or International Business?

About 3 years ago I decided that instead of sitting in front of the TV for hours on end with my bong at night and on the weekends, I was going to take up a more constructive hobby and decided to finish my bachelors degree in business management. I really enjoyed the academic environment that school provides, and have decided to go on and pursue an MBA. After months of going back and forth on different MBA programs, I've finally narrowed it down to two; e-business and international business. I'm torn between the two and can't decide. Of course I'm leaning towards e-business because it's the industry that I've been in and plan to stay in (adult and mainstream), but the problem with the e-business program might be that it's too new of a field, and the professors probably won't have any idea of what they're talking about. Anyways, I would really appreciate any input that anyone can give me as I'm still in a quandary.

e-business is not so new. it has been there for the last 10 years (that's around 70 years in the real life business). i'm sure there's people out there who has some knowledge about the subject. if you ask me, go for it!

Hey Noe AlmightyJim here. I've got over twenty years of actual business experience to fall back on here and I would highly recommend that you pursue the MBA in International Business.

It is a given that we now have a global business environment created over the last decade due to the growth and advancement of internet technologies and companies. I f you have a Bachelor's degree in business then you have the educational foundation that can be applied to either "Brick and Mortar" business or "ECommerce". Bottom line is that business principals are the same.

The biggest difference in doing business on an international scale is that you must first learn that all countries and cultures do not conduct business the same. By going with an MBA in International Business you will gain knowledge of the customs and financial ways of doing business in countries that you currently have no knowledge about but that you want to possibly do business in.

Just my worth.

I agree with Jim, go with International Business and start studying Mandarin and even Hindi (if you can somehow fit in two languages) intensely today

I was actually thinking Japanese, because I took a couple of years of it when I was a kid. Mandarin and Hindi...I think I would have a major brain meltdown, lol.

Yup agreed on the meltdown part

Japanese would be good but China and India are the two fastest growing economies as I'm sure you know. My Dad told me to learn Japanese about 20 years ago so I took a couple years of it but if he had said Chinese instead and I followed thru' I would be at a great advantage today.

International business. Hands down. I don't know the courses offered at the Uni you will attend but remember China, India and South America are things to focus on.

If you are really driven you will take some Mandarin Chinese language classes asap as well.

E-Business you can do yourself to pay your way through school. All that costs is $8.88 and a Virtual Webair plan with a Miva Merchant cart and you basically have your MBA.
