OK.. Will answer this :)

Yes, the executions are a problem - not least is because of the numbers of people who have been pulled off death row - 122 ish - who were not guilty. Rest assured there will be more...

This issue of the Justice System being "perverted by lawyers" is just words. Lawyers are only advocates for their clients - some are excellent, some are amazingly lousy. This applies both on the defense and prosecution. Any prosecution is as good as the evidence provided by investigators - and even they make mistakes or end up in the land of nod with wishing thinking.

Can't say much about the whole justice system because I don't know enough about it - but... the assumption that even forensic evidence is caste in stone, is doubtful. The standard in forensic labs is generally - nicely put - not up to standard. (Anyone in a white coat can set up in business as a "forensic lab")

The sphere of possible problems not only lies with lawyers asleep in court, but backwards thru the investigation process - and that includes the FBI who are not exactly blameless - tho still may elect to deny any error on their part, despite others far more qualified than they will ever be have proven them wrong.

Sure.. most prosecutions are probably correct - it's the number of wrongful convictions which is the problem and that is a reflection on the whole investigatory and legal system. One wrongful conviction where the death penalty applies is one too much.

I dislike the US administration for the most part, but just wanted to try my hand at shorthand quoting ;)

Wouldn't worry about it - most of the "Americans" around at that time were "actual Americans", not some immigrants.

Don't ask the immigrants about history - they hardly know one state from another, tho still trying to revamp their history to try and make it look better :winkwink:

The Spanish were also busy checking out the possibilities in the Americas and establishing an influence.
